I think you are forgetting that football is an entertainment industry. Meaning we, the fans (customers) are the ones that have a right to expect entertainment not the other way around. If the HF want to do what they do great. Good luck to them. Its a free country. Dont be a berk and start criticising the rest of us because we just want to turn up and watch our local team play football (and hope we win/play well) If you turn up expecting to be entertained perhaps you should go to the theatre instead, especially when it come to following Palace. Also, we are not 'customers', we are supporters who stick with the club through thick and thin. You wouldn't keep going to any other form of entertainment if you weren't entertained. You are right, its a free country, but instead of calling me a c**t (as that what a berk is), what does a silent supporter actually add on the day to help the team? There is a reason why they are valued so highly by Parish.

Albeit missing the crucial element that football clubs are just that - clubs. They are a community resource. We don't passively watch football, it's not like the cinema. It is a participation activity. Marshall McLuhan would almost certainly term it a 'cool' medium.

It's up to the individual how they watch their football, it's not for others to dictate the manner in which they support their team.

100 percent agree with the above. I have read all the pages in this thread and have read one valid argument (IMO) in that, some old fans have a support network that they rely on to help them on match days and that should be taken into account when and if people get relocated. Other than that it's just been a load of myopic, self indulgent, load of old whoof. "It's not fair ", "I've been here years ", " why should I move just for them ". It's pathetic, puncture repair man has been repeatedly ( I use him as an example as he seems to be waving the myopic flag the most vigorously), been asked to explain his morale outrage and indignation, by me and others, all he does is repeat the same tired arguments that I have mentioned above. What about the fans that love the energy and the atmosphere the HF create ? do they not deserve to have that atmosphere back ? I'm sure if you asked the players they would prefer the old atmosphere over the stale Emirates-esq hush that has descended over Selhurst recently. But hey as long as you don't have to move seats, what does the atmosphere matter ? And don't start back at me with the HF this and the HF that. I agree for the umpteenth time they have acted petulantly IMO.However......the Atmosphere is s*** without them so get them back and as long as you can still watch the game, other than having your nose put out of joint, whats the problem ? They're not tired arguments. They just seem tired because he repeats himself. The reason he finds himself having to repeat himself is that you and people like you on here wont debatte his points because you know he has some very valid and fair ones.

Firstly ahhhhh didums you're exactly the type of person I'm referring to.Happy to attack my opinion and views but can't back it up other than for the lame ass reasons I have already stated. And how are they being shafted exactly ? please tell me because you must've been talking to Sp direct as nothing has been settled, in fact at this moment in time it's just as likely that the "I'm not moving brigade" could end up with a better seat !! no one knows least of all you. Secondly I suggest you look up the hypocrite, here let me help: Hypocrite a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, especially a person whose actions belie stated beliefs. So please tell me how stating that the HF IMO have acted churlishly, in anyway links to my opinion that the atmosphere is better with them. It's a simple statement of fact. No HF, no atmosphere. If your saying I should back your bunch of windbags just because I think the HF have gone about it the wrong way then I'm sorry but your stretching the definition of hypocrite a tad far. As for being a bully LOL! have a read of your own post, and have a look in the mirror pal. And just for your info I say nothing on here I wouldn't say to anyone's face preferably over a beer or two. Get over yourself 'Ahhh' and 'diddums'?

They have absolutely no sympathy for anybody who is being moved by a bunch of bullies who have blackmailed Parish into moving loyal supporters against their will. I may be wrong but it's only players who win matches not some mythical"atmosphere". This

The cold and hard reality is that Crystal Palace Football Club is a business. It is run in such a way as to maximize income wherever possible, given the astronomical prices for players and their wages these days. Like it or not, it was the visuals and noise from the Holmesdale Fanatics in Block B (not the Arthur Wait, not Block E or anywhere else) which set Palace apart from other Premier League clubs in terms of TV coverage. The displays, the passion, the fervor, the guys leading the mob and barely watching the game - all this stuff got enormous coverage on NBC over here during matches. Yanks lap it up like chocolate milk. I have personally met and spoken to people who have started to follow Palace because of those type of scenes on screens over here. Those people have gone out and spent money on merchandise, made trips to watch games etc etc. Understand your chairman, because while he shows time and again he doesn't know much about football, CEO4TAG knows a thing or two about marketing. When he spoke on the FYP pod about this topic (go and listen to it if you haven't) he admitted he has used HF imagery to peddle merchandise/sell the club in some way, shape or form on many occasions. Add that into the HF getting lucky this year with some truly terrible form at home (and some very quiet home support, lets be honest) and it was only ever going to go one way. I am not condoning how Parish has handled this but in terms of Premier League sides he knows he has something special there and he knows he needs to safeguard it. At this stage I would suggest the club is held to account for adequate compensation, but it seems the ship has sailed and the decision is made. Time to move on.

It’s no surprise other clubs like Watford and Huddersfield have started similar groups and Man Utd tried to introduce a singing section. They recognise the positive media it brings to the club and envy what we have. One hopes it will settle soon and all will get behind the HF when they return. It has potential to be amazing if everyone gets behind it.

Maine Eagle I am fully cognisant of the business/marketing aspects which you have highlighted and I believe I made similar comments in a post earlier today but without the same level of articulation ! Dissonance abounds on HOL and one suspects outside this cherished site but I suspect that when the dust settles and the HF are in full voice they will be afforded a cordial welcome, but perhaps not by those who have had to relocate.Perhaps some of the ill-feeling,which I totally understand, will dissipate over time.
