Crime.....and don't give it about the cuts because if it were just about that then we would see the same rise around the country. And even worse, covering up glamour girls on adverts. And he's Labour.

Im a leftie but even if I wasnt I feel the need to step in here. Major of London is still pretty much a figurehead role, nobody who does that job has exactly set the world on fire have they? Mostly due to the fact that you cant really do that much in the role, Khan can make small changes but the right will see it as the destruction of western ideals/islamification of London (delete as appropriate) and when Boris was in charge he could only make small changes but the ones he did were seen as wrecking London due to incompetence and buffoonery.

I think the one visible good thing that any Mayor of London has done is to create TFL. Bringing in the oyster card, free travel for kids and various projects to improve transport links have all been good (except the bloody cycle lanes). Much of this was done under Ken Livingston who I detest but no doubt someone in his back office did the real work. Other than that you have to question what they can actually do beyond PR figurehead for London.

Same as with Trump, things happening this early into both Trumps and Khan’s watch aren’t entirely to do with them. The fruit of the previous administrations labour is still filtering through.

Trump's affect upon the economy was pretty much instant and to do with his campaign promises. His tax cuts have been in affect since January. He's put on 3.4 million jobs.....Obama wasn't doing anything like that. Khan.....well I don't live in London anymore but it doesn't take a genius to understand where most of the crime is coming from and what kind of Police force we have now. Khan is more interested in policing mean tweets than he is mean streets. Edited by Stirlingsays (21 Jun 2018 12.42pm)

All this nitpicking because he used the word "extreme" It’s not ‘nitpicking’. It is criticing the language of the left, whom use misleading illusions to further their own aims. The language was: ‘You are shadowed by the city skyscrapers but surrounded by extreme poverty’ This language is designed to highlight the perceived excesses of the city versus the perceived poverty of people down the street. It isn’t correct and needs to be said as so. The left will use this even though they know that ‘extreme poverty’ doesn’t exist in Britain when compared on a global scale. Go to the Central African Republic and tell people there that ‘extreme poverty’in Britain is people receiving their benefits on their £500 smartphones, whom then spend it at a supermarket. Then see their reaction. I wonder why you have such a hard-on about my comment to mention it in two threads. Are you looking to start something? Edited by matt_himself (21 Jun 2018 3.11pm)
