What's wrong with him taking a little bit of time (Oh my god THRRRREEEE WHOLE DAYS!) to make what is a huge decision for him? It's not just a change of job, it's a complete upheaval of him/his family & he needs to assess whether he considers himself ready and good enough to make such a big change worthwhile. Not just from his point of view, but from our point of view too. He doesn't want to do us any diservice by making a rash decision when he's not ready. There's nothing wrong with him having such a huge emotional connection to Bournemouth, the vast majority of his professional career (playing & managing) has been there & he's currently part of a huge love-in with both fans and the players- this is something that is all too rare in football, and how many times do we all whinge about people in football "leaving/only being in it for the money" or "having no loyalty"... and now some of you are having a dig at him for not jumping off his Bournemouth bandwagon like s*** off a shovel. Let's hope he mulls it over and comes to a decision that is best suited for all concerned: (come to Palace Eddie) I don't disagree with any of this per se. I think all your points are valid ones. Where I do disagree with you is over the timing. I can only speak from personal experience but for me, I resolve the issues above BEFORE I speak to the prospective employer and not after the interview. It's a waste of time for me and for the employer to spend time interviewing if I am not 100% sure I want to move, my family would be happy to go, I am certain it would be the right career path, etc. So while all the points you raise are real ones, I think Howe has put the cart before the horse in accepting a job interview before he has resolved in his own mind whether he is ready to make the change. And this reality is doing him no favours, and is why supporters are getting increasingly frustrated. Funnily enough I find myself in a similar situation now. I have had a very good tacit offer for a job overseas on the table since before Christmas, but I have refused to have an interview simply because I do not want to live abroad again, move my kids, etc. even though it would increase my salary and dramatically improve my career prospects and standard of living. And that's my problem with Howe. He shouldn't be interviewing for other jobs until he's certain he's happy to accept the right one. I can understand him soul searching about whether Palace or Charlton were right for him (that stuff, you can only find out at an interview) but not about whether he really wants to leave Bournemouth. If he doesn't know that, like I said, he shouldn't be interviewing. By all means say "no" because Palace or Charlton doesn't feel right, but not because of something you should have sorted out before you even had an interview (leaving your old job.) Because of this, Howe appears to me increasingly indecisive and unsure of himself; not qualities I personally want in a key hire.

What because he is probably making the biggest decision of his life? Whether to upheave his family, leave behind everyone he knows and loves, move the a club where the pressure will be on straight away. I'm quite happy with him taking his time.

Personally I think they're (Howe, Parrish and Mitchell) are just managing it pretty well. Get yesterday's game out of the way and an announcement tomorrow.

Can't say I blame him, given Bournmouth are knocking on the Championship door, and we're dancing on its trapdoor. I'd be cautious.

Haha, I think someones made this up. "whilst I was out", "2 very good sources" - you gonna name them? Why were two very good sources out on a Sunday? Howe doesnt seem like the type of guy to reject a club because of money. State of the squad? It's not that bad and he would have funds available to strengthen. I think this post was made by a bitter AFC fan with nothing better to do.

By no means attacking the HOL poster but I think thats boll*cks. I do have a suspicion that he might stay at Bournemouth but not for those reasons. Especially the 'State of the squad' line. He'll have funds to spend and a better 'on paper' squad than he's currently got. I think if he stays it'll be out of a rarity in football called 'Loyalty'. The hyperbole around this chap is a cause for concern. Ok he's achieved at Bournemouth but his 2 year management track record is a concern. I'd have Hughton over EH any day. I'd like a manager that has some credible record/career of playing/working at the highest level possible, especially right now. EH concerns me that we're preparing for a rebuild in Div one. As mad as this may seem. If we got him great and I'll back him. If we don't and got CH then I'd be much happier. Given our current plight and needs I'm not convinced that EH is the right man for job at the minute. Another factor in his difficulty in leaving is his own limitations. He could be aware that he's an inexperienced manager and needs to learn his trade much more at his home club where he's successful.

So let's just say for a second he hears Palace want to discuss our vacant manager's position with him. He, as per your guidelines, tells Bournemouth "right, i'm leaving, Palace want me and i'm going to go to the interview tomorrow" ...and then Palace decide after the interview, that Eddie Howe isn't the man they want? What happens then?
