He didn't even directly say it - questioned in the House of Commons on whether Brussels should be told to "go whistle", Mr Johnson replied: "I think that the sums that I have seen ... seem to me to be extortionate and I think 'go whistle' is an entirely appropriate expression." That is saying it to normal people H. Why do you want to defend this upper class twit who leaves a trail of destruction everywhere he goes - this week 940 millions to London taxpayers. Palace fans will be pleased to know that thanks to Johnson they will be paying West Ham's electricity bill for years to come. The problem with 350 millions for the NHS etc. is that people just assume you are lying all the time you must have integrity to represent your country at his level - he and Mrs May don't have any.

No it's not - he was repeating what someone put to him. Why do you want to defend a lost cause?

Utter crap. Britain will be in control of its laws. Arbitration is there to resolve disputes. It is a very common and a much trusted method of dispute resolution because it encourages compromise and is generally adjudicated by impartial umpires. Plus the resolution is binding. You have not a clue what you are talking about. Britain has always had control of it's laws. The ECJ ruled on European laws, not British laws. In practice, all they do is answer questions put to them by UK courts on European laws. These laws are in place for the interpretation of individual states courts; the ECJ has never over-ruled any British courts.

He agreed with what the person put to him, he didn't come out 'go whistle' himself, he said it was an appropriate expression to use - quite right too.

Brexit is being shaped by big business and banks while the interests of ordinary people are being drowned out, a damning new report has concluded.

Michael/Rumpole/one of my other trolls - surely this is a mistake.

So, the numbers leaving top business schools in Europe coming to work here have dropped in the past year (though remaining as yet top of the list)and the most noteworthy point in the story relegated by the journo to the final para: top four business schools in Europe are all French and our top one (Warwick) comes in only at number 9,a testimony to our ongoing slide in the field.

EU ban on vacuum cleaners that actually do the job come into force today. The experts at telling you how to run you life say you can't have a 'powerful' cleaner, or one that makes a bit of noise. I expect they have set up some sort of vacuum police who will come round to see if your carpets are clean, and if so, produce a search warrant to find your cleaner of mass destruction. IF found you will be subject to some dreadful punishment - a weekend in Brussels perhaps.
