Why would you pay credence to someone who has a view on Covid 19 that is not supported by their professional association?

His reply completely and utterly ignored the question even though it was explicit. This is exactly why I do not trust this government or anyone in it, or what they tell us. The only answer you can infer from his response is that yes, you will indirectly be enforced to take it if you want to ever visit a public place again. I doubt they have given it serious thought but I'd say that your conclusion is probably correct.

Professional associations are fallible for various reasons and there are plenty of professionals who aren't towing the official line. They also change their advice....and can give out wrong advice for decades...Diabetes is an example

It was a pretty bad presentation today. I wish I took a few notes listening to it, but I would also like more scrutiny coming from the press and not the softly softly approach by the likes of Hugh Pym.

The only answer you can infer from his response is that yes, you will indirectly be enforced to take it if you want to ever visit a public place again. Compulsory vaccination has already been ruled out. However, some places may well demand evidence of vaccination prior to allowing entry. Not necessarily due to any views of their own but because of simple economics. If the customers who demand that they only mingle with those who have been vaccinated outnumber those who have not, then they will have little choice. For instance, if one airline who accepts only vaccinated passengers obtains higher bookings than another who doesn't then the writings on the wall.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

Not compulsory but you have to have it if you want to go outside your own house.

Him dismissing it out of hand because apparently the FT is ‘biased’ is an agenda. Me responding to his query of how they’re doing economically isn’t. You need to take into account the population and how that is distributed. Also NZ completely shut down, we didn’t.. we should have but the civil liberties groups et al would have been in meltdown had we closed the borders....fact
