Personally I couldn't give a toss if people who have been here five minutes, some of whom hate us, don't like our historical figures and I can't really understand why people like you do either. You must hate yourself a lot. Good job I didn’t then, or you would have called me a moron

Well, that has to be seen in its historic context. Which brings us back to who writes history and why is so much of it obscured from our view. Colson was nuanced. Did much good. It’s just many people don’t like to have to look up to him. And have him look down on them. His statue is now in a far better place. Have you visited MUZEON by the way? Full of statues taken down by vandals.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

People who hate our history and historical figures aren't needed here. Most of them aren't us or don't align themselves with us seeing themselves as more 'citizens of the world'. As was said earlier they instinctively look to criticise and pull down what we are. These people end up being a problem for most countries. There's a border, they can cross it. But they just won't go. Edited by Stirlingsays (13 Jan 2023 1.07am)
