And there I was thinking you were finally showing your caring and unselfish side Your usual level of condescension. Since I don't work or socialise regularly with anyone outside a handful of people, my chances of catching or spreading COVID are low. 99% of those who are vulnerable to serious illness are already vaccinated, so I would ask why you have such a scathing attitude to my brand of pragmatism.

Well, it may have been connected to your wording: irrespective of the need for the wider population to be vaccinated In earlier posts I had believed you actually cared about the effect the choices each of us makes has on the wider population

The truth is that no one actually knows how the virus will evolve going forward or what that might mean for the population. It's a logical choice.

If there is this much confidence in vaccines, after giving the vax companies legal protection, the governments should all be proving via tv and online adverts why they are certain these vaccines are safe. But the U.K. government have done nothing and major European leaders have told their public to turn down one brand of vaccine. Astra Zeneca. That good old EU hey. Wishbech, you forgot these leaders, and millions of French and Germans wasting vaccines or causing hoarding of vaccines. Meanwhile we’ve had a huge uptake here. But direct all your frustration to British. Well perhaps it should be more ethnic minorities in England. And haven’t the good old EU blocked exports of the vaccine to Australia. Many in the UK who have been vaccinated possibly wouldn’t have been had we still been in the control of the EU

I know someone who is not in the groups being called but was anxious so enquired of our local centre. As they had a lot of availability they happily booked them in. Whether this applies anywhere else I don't know.

Papers today state that the vaccine drought is over and that in the next few days we will have 10m doses available. I hope this is true I have noticed a big drop off at the vaccination centres we have not been busy. Those people who had the first jab in January are coming up to the 12 week mark we need to start giving them a second dose asap.

More EU countries are to stop using the AZ vaccine due to safety concerns over blood clotting. The UK and the WHO dismiss these concerns so who is right? Do the EU have a better understanding of the issue or are they cynically exploiting it to explain their failures to the voters. My last post I said the number of vaccinations in the UK had been falling due to supply issues. At the centre I volunteer at we are planning to double the number of patients from this Friday so hopefully the supply issues are behind us.

These will be older and vulnerable people. I’m sure they can work out that they should have the vaccine. Oh no they do what the EU and main national leaders tell them, and mainly out of spite towards the U.K. Glad we eft their political union and future United States of Europe.

The obvious question to me is whether future strains and changes to the covid virus will be covered by it. In the absence of a medical cure I remain a sceptic. I am not into vaccine wars at all.

Its a last shot at trying to dis the UK over brexit. Countries who stopped are now using it again. The % who get blood clots is actually lower than normal. Maybe AZ is helping, who knows!
