Can’t remember if this has come up on this thread before but their treatment of Cliff Richard cost them (us) £2m in the end.

it is confirmation that the Tories are part of the problem.

The Tories have been the party in government for most of the time since the fifties.

Everything the typical Tory voter complains about were allowed to grow and strengthen under their watch, from immigration to the so called 'hate speech' to the leftist neo liberals in the BBC.

What did they turn back? Nothing.

And what have the Tories 'conserved' exactly?...even from within their own party? All they care about are house prices and their bank accounts....bunch of careerists who literally betrayed conservatism. They serve their financial backers more than anything else.

In truth, they are the neo liberal party now.....embarrassed of their own grass roots and their 'ain't it awful' narratives but happy to lie to them just as long as they vote for anything in blue.

The reality is that the Tories are the party you vote for to keep Labour out. You don't need much motivation in a two party system. Unfortunately, it's almost impossible to break to strangle hold in our electoral system.

This is true.

However, that's the 'house prices' argument.

I await a party that actually stands for conservative values...There is taxation without representation at the moment.

Its unlikely that the establishment will ever allow it.

being a Conservative-minded person and VOTING Conservative ?

well, that would be like these morbidly obese types who spend their whole life giving money to the Slimming & weight loss industry.

A futile waste of time.

More hand wringing, something must be done, we must look at ourselves, etc etc.

ENOUGH

I am not interested in the BBC continuing to be a golden goose for people in the club.

Strip it back to a purely public service broadcaster in terms of what the taxpayer funds.

For the rest, make it a commercial enterprise and see how it gets on in the real world.

For me it is not an institution or an intrinsic part of British life.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Predictably the BBC and its friends at the Guardian are now claiming they are being unfairly targeted by politicians and the meeja.

It's true that tabloids are having a field day for 2 reasons:

1. The story is true, try as you might BBC the people who have been lying are the BBC.

2. Revenge, sure the BBC loved it when we have the phone tapping scandal (also true) and deplored the tabloid media so now they are getting their own back. As for politicians they love to stick the boot your fault BBC for giving them the ammo.

It's time to defund the BBC, how many more scandals do we have to put up with.

Ain't that the truth.

This is the year I leave it myself: I won't be renewing.

However, when you look into the process it's outrageous how difficult they make it. The government have allowed that to happen.

People who don't wish to break the law but who don't want their services (or ideally could pick and choose them) are frightened away from breaking from them due to how the rules are framed.

It's unethical and wrong, but that sums up the elitist neo liberal gravy train the BBC is.

I have looked at it and don't see how you can do this legally, short of getting rid of my telly.

You don't have to answer this but how do you plan to do it and not fall foul of the law?

Somebody made the great point that after Hillsborough and The Sun's coverage the people of Liverpool refused to buy the paper and newsagents won't stock it.

However with the BBC scandal after scandal and I do not have the right to vote with my wallet.
