I agree. I don't believe in coincidences either. The coincidence I see is the emergence of Johnson and his tactics so soon after Trump and his tactics. Only the gullible think they aren't related. The "globalists" by the way are a completely mythical bogeyman. Much like the "deep state" and other inventions of the populists. Globalism is just a fact of life and all the more important given that the problems we face need widespread international co-operation. Related?

Perhaps you would like to identify just who they are, how they are organised and how, in today's world there aren't any leaks from whistle blowers? You cannot turn back the tide of history. We now live in a global economy in which the exchange of information is instantaneous and the transfer of goods often not much longer. We need to live within that fact and learn how to benefit from it, rather than just complain about it. Neither you or i will ever see who 'they' are. Recent history shows us that regardless of Red or Blue being in power (pfft) things only get worse.........more hrs spent at work coupled with ever increasing borrowing from the future to pay for today (DEBT!). You haven't got a clue why globalism was ever a deliberate stance forced upon us all and you never will.

Trump follows the same pattern without variation. Never apologise. If attacked, attack the attacker, personally and relentlessly. Find scapegoats to blame. Keep the attention on the scapegoats, because that way you don't have to defend, or even have, your own policies. We are seeing much the same from Johnson. Not I suspect because that is his plan, but that it is the plan devised by his "advisers", who themselves have seen that Trump's approach works. What we are witnessing is our political life being relegated to being treated as a commodity and subjected to marketing techniques, so it can be sold to gullible consumers. I have little doubt that phrases like "surrender act" have been tested in focus groups for effectiveness and then the Cabinet instructed to use and defend them on pain of them losing their jobs. How long they will suffer this humiliation is an open question.

So they are some shadowy group we will never be able to identify, but exist somewhere and control us all? To what end exactly? Sounds suspiciously like a conspiracy theory to me. No-one denies that the challenges globalisation produces aren't real. Our debts are higher and we need to adjust both what we do, how we do it, and what our expectations ought to be. That though doesn't mean there is a conspiracy behind it. A whole world view is essential going forward. Looking backwards will achieve nothing but reminiscences, and you cannot take them to the bank. That we would be better doing this together with our partners in the EU, rather than alone, seems obvious to me. This isn't 1919. This is 2019.

Now reply to the things that matter, the points you swerved. The explanation to your grand children?

? I'm agreeing with you. All this dirty trick stuff might look very transparent to older heads but the young and gullible can always be fooled.

You couldn't make it up. The Maoris are still holding it against us after 250 years. Ridiculous.

No mention of the Boyd massacre at Whangaroa harbour in 1809 when at least 66 Europeans were killed and eaten.

I see that Peter Sissons the former BBC newsreader died today and he is another that complained about BBC's left wing bias in his memoirs

Of course, as Ireland was part of Britain too - they will have to share responsibility. Why not just extend that to all white people? Seeing as we are all so priveleged.
