The low intensity civil war waged under Thatcher seems to have been hiding twitching behind the curtains only to erupt at her death. For twenty three years the Tories sought to get away from her -no nasty party now. But with her awaiting burial, Cameron has come out as the vestal virgin-in-chief to mourn this loss. Must be the much awaited plan B people have been talking about. Lists are being drawn up as we speak of those who have a record of vehement opposition to her ways. Some will be arrested as a preventative measure. Internet forums are being surveilled for key signs. The proposed minute's silence for her demise planned for Reading versus Liverpool has been scrapped. Margaret Aspinall of the Hillsborough Families said "To have a minute's silence for her at any football ground would be an insult to fans" Would the pro-Thatcher acolytes on here like to propose the same silence reign during our next home match? And if they would, can they send a petition to the board?

On a side note, the Tories have not had the "Thatcher bounce" some predicted in the wake of Mrs T's death, and appear to have slumped even lower in the latest YouGov poll: [Link]

And of course you're always right - to you. To someone else you could just as easily be always wrong. My point is that EVERYONE thinks they're right. They can't all be, so who decides? You? Me? Them?

But just because everyone thinks they are right, does not mean that they are, self-evidently. I could opine that the earth is flat, but it does not make opinion as valid as someone who believes it is round. No one necessarily needs to decide though, both can retain their opinions as long as they want, however misguided they may be. But someone who does not revise their opinion in the light of the evidence is rather foolish.

No-one has the monopoly on truth mate, not me or you or anyone else. We all create our own "truth" in any case and just because someone else doesn't agree with it, doesn't make it any less true to the person who holds that view. Without wishing to turn this into a philosophical debate, what a load of morally relativist bullsh*t. Of course there is such a thing as the truth. If people refuse to accept the truth, it makes them wrong. What you've written is tantamount to saying, "everyone can invent their own truth" which is, to use a technical philosophical term, utter bollocks.

Hey Gusset, you'd make a brilliant character in a sketch show. Edited by Penge Eagle (11 Apr 2013 4.24pm) he already stared in one.
Right that's it! I'm going to write to the lead singer of Echo and the Bunnymen. Dear Mr Echo...

What is the nature of truth? That is a question that has challenged thinkers since humans recorded expression. Of course like everything else what is 'true' to people tends to be coloured by their own perspective. If we could...Which we generally don't...separate out truth from perspective we tend to find that what is left are statistics (which we sometimes call facts) When we interpret those statistics we give them perspective and it's from here that we find division in interpretation. 'Truth' beyond statistics becomes a popularity contest....A kind of 'my truth' is better than 'your truth'. In terms of A causing B I'm sure some truths are more accurate than others.....But that's always an opinion.
