Typical unprofessional cringe from Trump.

I don't know about how she handled it or who she is.

Kirstin Gillebrand is a US Senator for the State of New York.

How about how Elizabeth Warren handles (repeatedly) being called "Pocahontas"?

Now that's just amusing....unprofessional....but amusing.

A couple of observations:

1) Obama put together the longest unbroken streak of private sector job growth in American history - dropping unemployment from over 10% to under 5% in the process;

By borrowing give or take as much as every single president COMBINED before him!
Employment figures are mashed by many having more than one job.

2) Job growth (and GDP growth) has slowed under Trump, despite his claims to the contrary ("biggest ever!" )

This always happens towards the end of any 'boom' regardless of who happens to be 'in power' so nothing to see here tbh.

3) With a booming stock market, solid job growth, low unemployment, low interest rates, low inflation etc. etc., why would the sitting President be so deeply unpopular?

Stock markets are REACTIONARY, they NEVER lead any economy. So what does? There's some homework for ya.

Historically low interest rates have done nothing to help any 'economy', only those at the top..........as usual, the ever-rising debt for the common man being proof.

Each new poll has his approval ratings dropping deeper into the 30s while, more alarmingly for him, his disapproval ratings are soaring into the 60s. Trump won Alabama last year by a margin of +28%. While not on the ballot this year, exit polls asked for approval / disapproval of Trump's performance, and the result was 48% approve, 49% disapprove. In a year he went from +28% to -1%...in deep red Alabama!

Trump is a t***. But as with many before him, he doesn't, and will never, 'rule the roost'.

I emphasized private sector job growth, because it has little to do with public sector - i.e. government - borrowing/spending. So your response to point #1 is nonsense. Strike one.

(As an aside, the Trump and Republicans are working on a tax bill that will increase the deficit by 1.5 TRILLION dollars in 10 years. So, fiscal responsibility...right?)

Obama's job growth came about after inheriting an economy that was shedding a half-a-million jobs a month. A MONTH! Saying that his performance on jobs is just the afterglow of a boom is complete and utter nonsense. The only boom Obama inherited was the sound of the economy imploding. Strike two.

Low interest rates help the middle class, because it keeps down the cost of mortgages and credit card debt etc. They also help private business borrow funds for capital investments which create jobs. Strike three. [Link]

You keep refusing to answer my question - being how these individuals from "the left" handled their response to being baited by Trump. You claimed that only Sanders behaves as an adult, yet are unaware of these two very high profile, very recent incidents where the targets of Trump's bile responded with intelligence and grace.

There are countless other examples too, because the list of Trump insultees is long and illustrious.

Also, calling Warren "Pocahontas" is racist, so it's telling that you find it amusing.

This idea that Trump keeps blurting out any old s*** and those who oppose people acting this way - and it doesn't fall along left, right lines.. it falls along decency lines - should just rise above it all or not respond is laughable really. People are right to highlight what a ludicrous moment we're in and there is a reason that Trump's approval ratings even in places like Alabama are going in one direction only. Troll in chief.

The (failing) NY Times has been keeping a list of people, places and things Trump has insulted on Twitter. It's up to 394 (with many, many receiving multiple insults), but this list is a month old so I wouldn't be surprised if we're over 400 by now. Kirstin Gillibrand and Doug Jones, at least, need to be added to the list. [Link]

I worry about the impact this stuff has on children. No doubt that will get laughed at by the same people who gasp in horror the moment anything 'progressive' comes on screen - aka a man wearing an earring, or a mixed race couple. But it is a concern.

And it's easy for people to brush off stuff Trump comes out with, but there are clear examples that essentially may well end up in obstruction of justice territory. Roy Moore losing may be a turning point. Trump threw his weight behind someone who appears to be even more morally bankrupt than he is, but even in a ruby red state like Alabama, people have their limits. That is a healthy sign.

I have said before that Trump will bring balance to politics in the same way that Anakin Skywalker brought balance to The Force...by dragging one side so far to the edge and then chucking it down a bottomless stairwell.

Trump's entire political agenda has been a disaster, and he may yet fail to get to sign the tax bill. Trump backed Gillespie for Virginia governor...and lost. He picked Session for AG because his old Alabama senate seat was safe as houses...and lost. He backed Luther Strange in the Alabama primary...and lost. He backed Roy Moore...Roy f***ing Moore...in the Alabama special election...and lost.

While the Russia investigation and, now, the heat on sexual harassment may get him, he's completely dead as a politician. He has zero influence because he has zero clout. He's toxic.

The really ironic part is that Jones' win in Alabama has just handed the levers of power in the US government to the two moderate Republican Senators who now hold the balance in the upper house: the gentle ladies from Maine and Alaska, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski.

Ironically, I really am enjoying the Trump Presidency, but yeah. I'd pretty much agree, its what happens when the choice is between someone who doesn't serve the agenda of the majority, and someone who deceives they represents the agenda of the majority.

Ironically, you had a candidate who represented interests of capital and big business, and a candidate who pretended they wouldn't.

The irony is that Trump isn't the problem, he's the symptom of a system that is inherently biased towards the interests not of voters, but wealth and the wealthy.

Exactly, and it just leads to essentially poor people attacking other kinds of poor people in both directions. Real change is seen as a lost cause I fear. Bernie Sanders likely was an opportunity to at least get the right kind of person in the job, but the DNC put pay to that. Anything that upsets the status quo cannot be allowed under any circumstances. Some thought Trump was that man, seemingly forgetting that he literally sits on a golden throne and doesn't give two s***s about poor people. His tweets are his gift to the masses, his medicine for the malady. His actions though are that of a crass, self interested and rich individual helping himself and his mega rich pals. Same ol' same ol'.
