If Sakho hasn't already had his medical, is it realistic to expect us to sign him (assuming full terms can be agreed all round that is)? Also, I wouldn't be keen if he couldn't play before October. We could be adrift by then and history says it is probable he will sustain another knock before the season is out...so the Sakho boost across the season could be tiny. Wonderful player that he is. He's a year younger than Sakho, how much better is he going to get?

Fair point. Would have been nice to pick him up for that amount last Jan though when we really needed him.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Sakho (£20m bid) ' by Guntrisoft Michael Bridge provides us an update on the futures of Eliaquim Mangala and Mamadou Sakho. “I can tell you Crystal Palace fans is that you have made a bid for Man City defender Eliaquim Mangala and there is still interest in Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho but I can reveal that Palace are also actively pursuing another striker. “I’m trying my best to get you a name as soon as possible but Palace are in the market for a defender and a striker.”

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Sakho (£20m bid) ' by Guntrisoft Lets simply pay the price scousers want. He wants to join is a class act and if we survive with him the dividends will be at least 4 times more than 30mil outlay. Yet board too scared or clueless. Joke.

In my opinion I think we have missed the boat with Sakho, We should of had him before pre season. I think come 11pm we will have signed 3 or 4 players for minimum money that will not improve the squad. and Parish and his penny pinching will see us relegated, Having said that I hope i eat my hat over this, Even a smaller team like Fulham are offering £15m for Dwight Gayle, We are embarrassing in the transfer market.

I wouldn't be to sure on the Sakho thing, he wants to come to palace, we want him, and the scouters want rid, I thing the last point will swing it.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Sakho (£20m bid) ' by Guntrisoft Really fed up that it looks like we've f****s up the Sakho signing and now it's too late to get anybody else in. The club has had months to reach a deal with Liverpool that they would find acceptable, but due to the usual penny-pinching we have missed out. If he repeated his impact of last season he would be bargain at £30 million. Penny wise, pound foolish that's us.

We have just bid 23 Million for Mangala from Man City. Considering Sakhos fitness and injury record this could be a shrewd move and we get a centre back who can hit the ground running. Either that or Parish is sending a message to the scousers that we are not totally desperate for Sakho and won't be held to ransom.

Awkwardly it seems Mangala doesn't want to join us, so it leaves us back at square one, with Liverpool in a seemingly better position then before we had the bid accepted lol

Mangala wasn't particularly great for Man City. If we're not getting Sakho due to not stumping up the cash, I will be pissed off. To think that half of the American duo is worth $3bn, and we can't stump up an extra 5 mill for Sakho... the cost of relegation is far, far higher than that.

Looks like a Sakho deal is very close and could only be hijacked by WBA (but Sakho0 doesnt want to go there. So cautious optimism over sakho. And a €12.5m offer for the turkish striker Cenk has been accepted. So at this point in frantic Thursday, thumbs up for Palace!
