Appears that thanksgiving is going to screw the US pretty hard. Perhaps a good indicator of how Christmas is going to have an effect on case numbers. Although perhaps not, because Americans.
Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons. |

They are. They're also blessed with common sense. They know the health system here is coping at the moment but would struggle if we welcomed a big influx at this time of year. Nevertheless, I expect there will now be a flood of second homeowners arriving over Christmas and the New Year which may well have consequences. I wouldn't bet against us going into Tier 2 in mid-January. The number of mobile homes on the roads here, parking up at night wherever they could, prior to this lockdown, was extraordinary to witness. I bet we see that again. One of my friends who owns one felt obliged to put a notice in his windscreen proclaiming that he is a local. Serious question, why did your friend have to put the sign in his mobile home? Vandals?

Yes. Luckily London never gets any tourists. Not too many escaping a city go to another do they? People come here for the tranquillity, space, relatively mild climate (I still have roses blooming and next year's gorse is already flowering) and, of course, the pasties.

Who knows where they come from but there are many millions more than go to Cornwall. It’s lucky there is no tube system in Truro or they’d really have something to complain about.

It was at a time when we were being swamped with them and, as he uses it not just for trips but also sometimes for daily transport, he just wanted to let others know he was local. Especially when parking at his workplace.

Only if the locals let them in though No-body stops them do they? We welcome tourists in normal times. All that has been asked for this year is observance of the rules and some common sense.

People in low positive test areas in Kent nowhere near Medway towns etc are livid and rightly so. Includes people okay with all the rest of it. Now they’re getting stitched up....

With so much shut down I would have expected tourism would have stopped completely. There have been almost no foreign tourists here in Cornwall this year. In normal years they dominate except in high summer.
