I should never have doubted you j2j007, or Burnley... and I didn't. A nice winner for backing Burnley... and for backing Oldham... and for backing Sheffield United... Quote halfmanhalfslug at 06 Nov 2002 9:54am
Agreed -- outsider of the day has to be Oldham, especially at that price. West Ham have an appalling Cup record against lower division opposition, and are on a run of bad form at home in the league at the moment. I think Spurs will be too strong for Burnley though, but the price for Burnley is attractive. Another possible upset could be Sheffield Utd beating Leeds at 15/8. Tonight's multiple will probably be from: Aston Villa 8/15 If Southampton can keep up their recent standards, I think they could do well at Anfield, but probably still won't quite be able to beat them. The draw is worth 3/1, and Draw/Liverpool is 7/2. Villa were the only winner from the multiples above... and although Liverpool beat Southampton, their first goal wasn't till 45 minutes, so Draw/Liverpool was veeeery close... As for Palace bets? Still waiting for a winner. But if we keep winning, it's hard to feel bad about it.

My Ashes tips (with prices from [Link] and [Link] Top series wicket taker - Warne 7/4 Top series batsman - Martyn 8/1 At the last minute I changed to a double on Warne and... Hayden. Looking good after day one! Gutted for Jones though. Nasty.

I thought I blown once Spurs had scored but well done to Burnley for fighting back, and West Ham are just basically s*** and going down, I think we should put a checky bid in now for Joe Cole before any of the big gun come in for him !!! I think thats my betting luck for the whole year used up in one go so I will treat my bird to a night out !!!

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Racing Tip of the day' by halfmanhalfslug Today, Tony McCoy runs in the first two races at Haydock (on Trained By The Best and Ela D'Argent), then travels to Hereford to ride on Vol Solitaire in the 3.10. All three should win, although Impek is a danger in the Hereford race. Other possibles include Fragrant Rose (1.05) and Tom Costalot (2.50). I'll be in the pub all afternoon, so will post the results tomorrow.

Tonight, back Rangers to be leading at half-time and full-time in their Cup match with Dunfermline, at around 8/11 to 5/6 odds. Ronald de Boer has a good chance of being first goalscorer at 6/1.

Today's bet is Pole Star (Doncaster 2.10), but again I won't be here to post the result.

I hate Rangers. Livid. This weekend I'm going for half-time draws in the matches at Villa, Sunderland, Bolton, West Ham and Southampton. All about evens. The Palace tip will be posted on the usual page, as soon as I've told Penge what it is.

As far as I can remember, I tipped Draw/Palace and Draw/Draw on the tips page, which means AT LAST I HAVE A WINNER!! Should've stuck to backing 0-0, typical.
