Anyone who thinks ULEZ has anything to do with cleaner air is kidding themselves - Just wanted to share this with you - In Tehran they also have a traffic problem (go figure) their solution to it is geared to the last number of your cars registration plate - the days of the week are allocated to either odd or even numbers: Sunday = odd / Monday = even (etc etc) so on the days where your car isnt allowed into the city its public transport or car sharing - Obviously middle classes tend to have several cars so providing they get at least one car with an odd plate & one with an even plate then they are good to go any day of the week. Don't they also have a rule in Tehran that shops can only get deliveries during the night? It saves one parked van from stopping traffic as used to happen quite regularly in central London (Holborn used to be bad for this).

Yes - Although in some areas its no trucks during peak hours - with signs detailing the prohibited hours for that zone. Originally posted by Teddy Eagle

How ‘young’ exactly. I mean just to clarify the story About 30 years younger than me. And to answer your veiled question, I would've if it wasn't for the fact that I was there with my old dad, oh and that I'm old, married and she'd laugh if I tried.

Have a ULEZ strike. Everyone who works in the zone calls in sick on a Monday. Then a Monday and Tuesday, then a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday etc. Until moron Khan doesn't get his way - which is what a lot of this is. The "man" is clearly a baby who can't stand not getting his own way. He's probably bossed his wife and family around for his whole life so is used to it.

People are already refusing to pay the ULEZ charge in inner London. This could be Labour's poll tax moment.
