23 mill for the City defender, a couple more for Sakho. You pay peanuts you get monkeys. Send Mutch to Leeds or Birmingham (ca. 2 mill) and we should be OK. We have seen first hand Sakho play and how he lifted the whole team and even made Kelly a proper player....please don't leave the window without our talisman.

if we're really pushing ourselves to our financial limit in the window then the additional £2-5m or whatever for Sakho may scupper another deal that we don't know about - maybe for a striker? We must be in the market for players in other positions you'd have thought

If Sakho hasn't already had his medical, is it realistic to expect us to sign him (assuming full terms can be agreed all round that is)? Also, I wouldn't be keen if he couldn't play before October. We could be adrift by then and history says it is probable he will sustain another knock before the season is out...so the Sakho boost across the season could be tiny. Wonderful player that he is. Mangala has many advantages and could become a top class talent.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

Hasn't that already been tried with Bruno Martins Indi and Kevin Wimmer amongst others. I don't think that Liverpool will drop their price at all as Klopp seems to be a man of principle and if their price isn't met Sakho will remain on their books until January when it all starts again.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

"They are looking for that key defender, but at the moment they are nowhere near agreeing a fee with Liverpool for number one choice, Mamadou Sakho, with the Reds wanting £30m. "Another player they are looking at Man City’s Eliaquim Mangala and we are trying to find out if a bid has been put in for him." Why didn't Michael Bridge just have a quick look at the BBC Sport website, where at 7.55am it was announced that we'd bid £23m for Mangala? Don't think we'll trust Bridge's contacts . . .

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Sakho (£20m bid) ' by Guntrisoft SS reporter at training ground suggesting Sahko no 1 deal is still in play. Looks like a poker game, who will blink first! Last time the bin-dippers got the full price for Bentecke. They probably think they can do the same again.
