I see no real reason why a member of my family who supported Thatcher on a huge series of situations would have a reason to lie to me about what they saw that day no? Well, I'm not going to call anyone a liar but I will say that from what I know about doing security in my youthful past I have a world weary perspective on it. Doing security at large gatherings basically means containing large groups of people and often stopping them from doing what they want to do.....I would just say that I have my doubts as too the one sided nature of the description given to you. In situations of high stress there is rarely one side who are the innocent ones and bad apples on either side don't define whole sections. The standards of behaviour for the Police are set far higher than they are for the public. Yet in my eyes each individual is responsible for their behaviour...And that's wearing a uniform and taking the state's coin or protesting and expressing your democratic rights. I suspect that you will argue that the Guardian has an agenda as well and you are of course right but it does seem to corroborate what my Dad's cousin said pretty cohesively.

Also from reading it the writer seems to not understand much about how growth works. Growth rates can't maintain high levels continually. As an economy gets larger and attains more wealth it will eventually slow down...'Productivity cannot continuously improve at the same rate'. China and India know this and are seeing the same effect. They are starting to see that initial growth rate lower as they maximize out in certain sectors. They have a long way to go yet but they will need to expand in different areas to get back to previous levels.

Says it all really. Maybe there's some truth in it but what more is there to say. Unless someone is prepared to actually stand up and point fingers it remains unproven.

Predictable reply from the poster who previously quoted the Daily Mail as a reliable source.

Are you suggesting the Mail has no political agenda? Of course the Liberal Conspiracy website is coming from an angle - I didn't deny that. Are you saying the same about the Daily Mail? Seriously?

I would say that committed Conservative supporters like myself gravitate towards the 'Daily Mail' and 'Telegraph'. Willo

Terrible shame. A great Prime Minister, and her death has certainly shown the true colours of a number of people on here. Celebrating the death of a very unwell old lady - unbelievable.
I haven't always agreed with this gentleman but he has it summed up perfectly. New lows of barbaric nastiness from the Thatcher ghouls. Hmm, well I know Cornish and Devon police who were shipped up in Yorkshire at the time who said everything was peaceful up there and the copppers were just talking to the police...then the Met Police aka Thatcher's personal guard, arrived and suddenly all hell broke loose. The cornish police put in a complaint about the Met Police's behaviour for it.

Have they controlled for all the other variables, like, say, erm, I dunno, the fall of the Berlin wall? Invention of the internet? The performance of other economies over the last three and a bit decades? Pantomime stuff.

the cost of the b#tches funeral is around the 8 million mark. The rebate that Mrs Thatcher negotiated for this country has brought us so far £75BILLION and I believe that this puts money into perspective.
