The euro is safe but unspectacular and most importantly, stable.

I was referring to the Germans having the strongest economy in the Euro zone and pulling the strings while the likes of Spain and Greece flounder without the means of being able to do anything about as they could if they were independent economies. Yep, apparently if we criticise how the EU economy works and and is run in Germany's favour we are somehow obsessed with the war and over sixty. There are plenty of things to admire about Germany....and plenty of things not to admire about it....Its government isn't one I admire nor how it has shaped the EU. Plenty of EU leave voters weren't always anti EU. This movement is against federalism and free movement....not against close relationships and cooperation within Europe.

Germany runs the Euro and Germany is an excellent economy....One that was built upon austerity and productivity growth.....though the Germany economy is also one that is partly built upon treating its weaker EU partners unjustly and keeping them poor and buying German on their credit. It's a caricature but there's enough truth in there to type it up. Edited by Stirlingsays (15 Jul 2017 5.51pm)

Can we assume then that the Euro has strengthened over the pound. The pound has wekened against most currencies over the last decades. I can remember $/£ @ 1.05 back in 1985. It was over 2 when i first started in the business in 76. Its malaise has been long term and nothing to do with brexit

What would restore sterling to its pre euro-vote status? Call them up PM and tell them we are staying in the EU. See where the £ goes then......up up and up.

Yes, you're right. Carry on thinking that. I must go now, have an appointment of a friend's super yacht for dinner. More of the same from you. A hackneyed, sarcastic position you have brought on by your inability to be able to defend the crap you post. Give up and face reality. Malta does act like a tax haven and you should read up on how QE works.

It does nothing that goes against German economic policy...Perhaps you could name me something.

The euro is safe but unspectacular and most importantly, stable. The Euro is a financial instrument designed and maintained by Bonn to keep German exports cheap and for Bonn to hold control over weaker Eurozone countries. Look at the circumstances of Greece and Italy since the credit crunch. Germany controls hose economies, has rendered both countries in hock for this and the next generation and as used its control to replace elected politicians with their own stooges.

Before the euro-vote you would get 1.2 euros for your pound whereas now you would get 0.88.
