Oh, come on, this is Hol - I don't think anyone has been happy here since about 2007... TBF a lot of my happiness then stemmed from John Darwin turning up alive and well after his canoeing misadventure.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Is it me, or dare I say it, we've improved the past few games. Fulham, Tottenham and Southampton games were truly horrendous, so it's a low benchmark. But they were two months ago now. We can't score, we don't create enough, but we've not embarrassed ourselves. Midfield has improved. Zaha to return. The current longest unbeaten run is Brentford, and we so nearly beat them. We will be fine and we have scope to improve.

Thought we did not disgrace ourselves I agree and whilst we still look very far from likely in front of goal, L'pool was a game where I thought we looked far more 'solid' I will say and I believe that is due to midfield additions. Not a revolution by any means but that fragility previously there seemed far less present to me and I was very pleased with that as it restored hope and at least a platform to build upon. Jimmy Mac and Wilf coming back should be huge, fixtures set to ease after this coming month and I am far less concerned now than I was previously. We may not be scoring or winning but at least we've picked up points and been 'hard to beat'. With the additions/returns, a bit of momentum and after this tough run I hope it translates into goals and W's. By no means guaranteed however again that hope, if not wishful thinking, is stronger for me now.

The villa game is very important , if we win , really would be massive not just for the points but for the confidence and momentum , As Guehi said in his post match interview against Liverpool , “we really need to build on that performance” and he said it a few times. So he and the team will know the importance. While I’ve mentioned Guehi I was dubious about him being captain when first was made but got to say he speaks very well, confident and calm for a young lad.

I thought it was a bit soon for him to be made captain however I have been as impressed with his character since his arrival as I have his performances. Can understand the thinking behind captaining him but perhaps his ability to handle and command the armband will come with a bit more experience.
