More likely to do something? Since Chicago has been Democrat run for 90 years they’re taking their time about it. The most deprived areas are always likely to have Democrats in the majority. That's just a political reality. Magic wands though don't appear in your hands just because you are a Democrat.

Or apparently the inclination to do anything about the crime rate. Who’d suspect that in the most corrupt city in America?

There are 30 cities in America which are more “deprived” than Chicago. Of the top 20 cities by murder rate 18 have Democrat mayors.

As so much corruption is, by it's very nature, unseen and probably unseeable, I would have thought it was a pretty impossible measurement to attempt, although an easy political slur to toss around.

I've noticed there has been a rubbish response to the extreme weather in Texas. Only just been designated an emergency, and not even for the whole state. I think 24 people have died so far. No media complaints about the incredibly slow and ineffectual response, however.

Chicago is well known for corruption I don't even think it's a party political issue most Americans would agree regardless of how they vote.
