Hope all goes well and Spain don’t ban you from entering. Have you seen the new requirements before you can travel from the U.K.? Hopefully will have ended before you travel

This is why I moved away from it. Answering the question if I have or will be having the Covid-19 injections no I have no interest in using gene therapy at this stage. Come on. mRNA and non-mRNA vaccines for COVID are not the same as gene therapy. The delivery vectors and methods in some cases are the same (eg a virus as a vector), but they don't have the power or the intention to alter your genes or DNA, whereas that is one of the main purposes of gene therapy, which can be very risky. Less so now with CRISPR but that's another conversation.

I won’t call anyone a hypocrite for getting vaccinated and never have. I hate people discouraging others from being vaccinated. But you can’t get vaccination cake yet. And if you did you’d have to poke it up your nose.

As for being accused of being scared by the guy who squealed like a ballerina at me whenever he considered anything physical was in the air....well all I can do is metaphorically smile back. I stated my position on the vaccines depending upon age and situation and I haven't seen any convincing reason for that to change: I will review that this time next year. However, all adults have a right to their own free choice and as said, they will get no criticism from me.

And if you did you’d have to poke it up your nose. It's 'looking a gift horse in the mouth'. While I can understand young people holding a different stance, anyone with health issues or knocking on in years should get it. If you're a betting man you'd rather have a vaccine known to work than deal with taking your chances with the real thing. Putting getting vaccinated on the back burner is futile anyway. Firstly the clinical trials started a year back (so based on that and the tens of millions vaccinated we have a very good read of its safety) and secondly in a pandemic when things open up, you're unlikely to avoid getting covid within a year anyway - where is the rationale behind thinking that's safer than getting vaccinated? Ironically if someone in that position did avoid covid for a year it would be entirely down to the community spirit and combined effort of the vast majority of others who did get vaccinated. It's apparently fine for others to make sacrifices though and is in fact those who adopt fringe stances that are 'in the trenches'. No the nurses and doctors are the ones in the trenches, and the general population who have the good sense to get vaccinated are the ones doing their bit. An at risk person turning down getting vaccinated is an act of stubbornly putting personal politics above health. There's more to covid than dying, and I fail to see any rationality behind thinking that the vaccine is a greater risk to health and the virus itself.

So offering someone out as a result of a spat on HOL is the mature thing to do, eh teacher? You are simply scared, let’s face it. Like you seem scared of Croydon. Let others take the risk on your behalf if you can. Just in case. I’ve had both of mine and volunteered to go first. Why don’t you grow a pair. Surely you don’t want to appear less macho than squealy old me?

FYI I've been volunteering for 2 weeks now having the jab was what prompted me (I'm 60) and when i saw the volunteers i thought I can do that and should. If anyone would like a guilt free way of jumping the queue I would suggest you volunteer. After every session they always have 2/3 spare jabs left over and are desperate to get rid of them. The first people they ask are the volunteers and why not it's only going to waste otherwise. As I have already had the jab it doesn't apply to me but I have no problem if a 20yo gets it after doing their shift. Edited by Badger11 (06 Mar 2021 9.55am)
