I am asking a question, why would you think this is a "dig " at you?

If there is a law that requires the BBC to act with inclusivity and equality then I would like to know.

If there is not then that's fine.

Don't really understand why if someone posts something that is possibly incorrect and is then asked for clarification that it is considered a personal dig.

The Equality Act 2010 makes no reference to broadcasting as far as I am aware so please enlighten on the secondary legislation that requires the BBC to act in a certain way by virtue of being a publicly funded broadcaster ( which is the reason the BBC is subject to a Royal Charter and other broadcasters are not ).

The points and criticism about the BBC on here are, in the main , about content not general corporate behaviour.

The Equality Act 2010 (Public Authorities and Consequential and Supplementary Amendments) Order 2011

I said it was secondary legislation.

This is the regulation that brought the BBC and Channel 4 and the Welsh Authority (but not, it would appear, ITV) into the definition of a "Public Authority", all statutorily bound by prescribed equality and inclusivity obligations.

It would not have killed you to look this up yourself!

BTW I didn't think your comment was a personal dig.

I was referring to dannyboy who accused "you" (i.e. me) of illiberal comment by me seeking to "shut down debate" - and indeed eaglecoop who accused me of "intellectual superiority" - just because I said the BBC were only acting in a way compliant with legal obligation.

If dannyboy had replied to my post and not your reply to my post, we would not have this confusion!

I've been, and remain (are you allowed to use that word?) a strong critic of the BBC and the way that they are morphing, but credit where credit's due, I thought their coverage of Prince Philip's funeral on Saturday was faultless. All the better for having virtually no voicing over the event.

Stick to what you're good at would be my take on it.

Did you not think that Huw Edwards’ constant fawning and oily obsequiousness was a bit off-putting? And the ever more desperate barrel-scraping as they trotted out increasingly unknown people who’d met him once.

The coverage of the funeral itself was very good but the hours long build up to it was almost vomit inducing.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I have learnt something so all good.

IMHO the BBC has turned into a taxpayer funded joke with many heads in a seemingly endless trough.

Anyway, time to move on from this

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

My thoughts exactly. It was like a Royal wedding or the FA Cup final except with nauseating attempts at faux sincerity.

Just watched some crap about how racist the church is. Utter drivel.

The cameras want to go to the synagogue, not a single black face there.

Defund that pile of sh@t ASAP

Racism cannot be something directed at white or people "not of colour" ( unless you are non white but do not embrace woke values ), have you not been watching the news recently?

Also the BBC test of blackness includes your diet.

Just watched the clip out of interest . I suspect Any white presenter who had mentioned black/person of colour may well have been sacked. My wife has felt compelled to complain to the BBC, not for the possible racial connotations but because the largest group of suicides are white males ( she had a good friend who committed suicide) so the comment was out of order in more than one way.
She usually likes this type of programme but has refused to watch anymore of this particular one
