This post has been merged from a topic called 'Reason for improvement' by bexleydave It could be reasonably argued that Palace are looking a better side now, than earlier in the season, when injuries were not an issue. It could then be argued that Palace are a better side without Roy's first choice players. What does that say about Roy's judgement?

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Reason for improvement' by bexleydave Ridiculous statement. Nothing obvious about our form or the form of the opposition we are facing. Roy continues to do a brilliant job in trying circumstances. Would he be our best manager if we had a squad like the top 6 probably not, but in our situation he is priceless.

What does that say about Roy's judgement? ..basing this on 'reasonably argued' but that's from your point of view, I feel the whole squad has been brilliantly organised by our manager, no matter who comes in they know what to do precisely.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Reason for improvement' by bexleydave LOL - I thought I might get a reaction. Whatever, it's great they are looking a decent side now - there was a lot of criticism on here about the quality of the passing especially. COYP

You have just alluded that we are sh!t. We allowed Newcastle to beat us, they didn't do it ..just as we allowed Southampton to equalize. The same could be same for Liverpool at home when they scored their late winner, the ball could easily have been cleared by us. Edited by Tickled pink (29 Dec 2019 8.24pm)

That is we have performed as well as or better than one would expect from a "small" premiere league club operating on a budget deficit with severe FFP restrictions?

I cant be bothered to look it up but I'd guess if the season went over a year instead of spanning the winter of one and the spring of the next we'd be pretty high up the table in 2019. Higher than a few clubs that are traditionally much bigger than us.

When Moyes last took over at W.Ham they were 18th after 11 games and the finished in 13th place. They decided to go in another direction, appointed Pellegrini and in his first season they finished marginally better in 10th place. At present they are in 17th place. I suspect that the W.Ham supporters just want their team to pick up points to steer themselves clear of the relegation zone and will except performances well away from the so called "West Ham way" if their team heads up the table.

And repeat repeat repeat. West Ham are no different to most clubs outside of the big clubs apart from however much extra in revenue per year. £20 mil or more? Can easily be wasted, as we know, and they’ve spent fortunes recently so I expect some belt tightening for a while, possibly most of their current three year cycle starting August 2019. But they do have decent players, plus a few ageing ones as well. I don’t look at their squad closely but players like Noble and Cresswell who’ve been worth their wages over a few years must be knocking on a bit. Edited by Rudi Hedman (30 Dec 2019 11.09am)
