And so it goes on, and continues to get worse.

We are still at the tip of the iceberg with disastrous consequences growing slowly closer.

We have Labour telling us how they will sort it all out if they get in.

Does anyone take that seriously?

The only answer is to stop people arriving here by diverting them to somewhere else, be that offshore on a ship or another land mass.

The current situation is costing the taxpayer 7 million a day just to keep some of these people in hotel accommodation. Council houses are being eaten up by demand from migrants, which means less availability for British people.

Politicians are using this as a political football while do nothing effective to fix this scandal.

Desperate measure are now required. 80% of these people are Albanians and have no right to asylum.

I ham having difficulty understanding why Albanians would come here seeking asylum, it will be organised by professional gangs no doubt.

Normally you would expect them to come her for better work economic conditions, asylum doesn't offer anything.

An Albanian guy fixed my heating last year he wouldn't be able to do anything for years as an asylum seeker.

Or do they have something here, friends so they disappear it still hardly sounds like anything you would risk everything for.

I don't know much about Albania but it is hardly Eritrea.

At least we know he’s a white man after two paragraphs and the police elsewhere struggle to say if a wanted person is male or female.

There was religious persecution in Albania but that all came to an end when their dictator Hoxha died in the mid 80s. I can’t see any justification for asylum these days. Economic benefit yes, but they would be able to find that in any EU country. Many have settled in Greece. Very simple to resolve ... a bottle of water at Dover and a seat on the coach to Gatwick or Lydd airport for a one way ticket back to Albania at their own expense. It's only what the Albanian authorities would do if you or I turned up unannounced in Albania without a return ticket.

Speaking entirely personally, I can see a huge point.

I've still got far too much to do, and places to see, before I am ready to see what lies over the horizon.

I like life and, right now, it beats the hell out of the alternative.

My wife tends to agree.

NOTHING lies over the 'horizon' when youre dead youre dead......finis, over, gone, an ex person,....there is nothing else!!

You've forgotten 'no more', 'ceased to be', 'gone to see your maker' amongst a few others.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

They don’t actually want asylum, they are economic migrants. However, mutter the words asylum and you are basically here. It is an obligation under UN that any asylum claim
, however obviously spurious must be given due process. Most therefore will be granted temporary admission pending decision, they have to have an address but very rarely stay there, so, yes they disappear into the ether working illegally, probably for pittance. Although those on the left seem to think that is ok, as we should let them all in.
Many Albanians claimed to be Kosovan, backin the day, as that gave them an automatic right to remain.
Perhaps a deterrent is the answer? Oh wait that is not acceptable
For those that say, , send them straight back, not possible ifthey have no documentation and therefore no idea who they are, another reason to detain, unless Joe public are happy to have potentially dangerous criminals walking the streets

What I love is the change in terminology being used. Apparently the Authorities 'intercept' migrants crossing the channel illegally (basically giving them safe passage to the UK). I do hope that if some idiot fires a balistic missile towards us, that the authorities don't apply the same intercept methods...

That's my own expectation too. Not my wife's though as she is a Catholic, and I have learned that she's never wrong!

You have more direct experience than others here. Do you see a solution that wouldn't conflict with our UN obligations?

Clearly the Albanians are not refugees. They are economic migrants being manipulated by criminals.

Could they not be charged with accessories to a criminal act, put through an accelerated count process, and deported?
