So 2 people disrupt a ukip carnival by shouting racist... The comments about croydon being a dump are perfectly valid. I am currently living just off of factory lane & it's a living hell, in the last 3 weeks I've had a gang of black blokes asking me what I'm doing in a black area, I've had a white bloke threaten to stab me as I was walking down from waddon marsh tram stop, I've also had a gang of blacks & whites threaten to stab me up just for walking past them. It really is the biggest s*** hole & I'm certain I will be stabbed at some point. Don't worry though, they were pretend Romanians: I just love the fear-smear mainstream mediagasm over UKIP at the moment. There is not a single mainstream UK media outlet that isn't piling on the fear and loathing. It's pathetic. The Guardian is being drip-fed smear articles from the Tories, the "Labour acolyte" from the Telegraph is paid by the EU/UK Taxpayer, via a City-funded anti-UKIP organisation to write articles slamming Farage several times a day. The Daily Mail has about-turned from it's constant demonisation of Romanians to claim that Farage is racist scum, I don't even bother with the Times as I'd have to pay to read their drivel. What has become very clear to me, after this, is that the gloves are truly off. The paid-up media don't even try to hide their blind subservience to the political establishment now, and I have lost faith in them to deliver ANY journalistic integrity and balance. In the past I would counter each article I read in the Telegraph with the equivalent in the Guardian. Now it seems I was just reading off the same song sheet. I'm not naive, but I've never been so depressed about the state of my country. Edited by davenotamonkey (21 May 2014 4.31am)

The thing is we have had party after party come into office yet croydon & other towns spiral down & out of control, nothing is ever done about it, instead there is a feeling of being written off by the council. My brother & mum live in the same house, a couple of years ago my mum who is in her 70's had her door kicked in by a gang of black men one held a machete to my mum's throat whilst another attacked my brother nearly severing his thumb whilst the rest of the gang had their fill of anything they wanted & then left, this is one of several similar burglaries that have happened in the area, the police were called & to their credit they responded quickly but no one was ever caught or charged.

It would be to their credit if they had prevented it. But responding to a crime AFTER the people have already nicked everything and held a machete to an old woman's throat? Oh yes, well done the police.

Edited by Johnny Eagles (21 May 2014 7.41am) I was being slightly ironic in that if you report a crime it usually takes 2 to 3 days for the Police to come round & take a statement, should probably have made it clearer. I agree though it all f***ing stinks.

Parts of the country are a bit fvcked up but not all of it. The most fvcked is the most prosperous imo. Pollution, traffic, crime, miserablism, stress, anti-social behaviour. That's right. Norwich.

They've been saying that since I was at infants school Parts of the country are a bit fvcked up but not all of it. The most fvcked is the most prosperous imo. Pollution, traffic, crime, miserablism, stress, anti-social behaviour. That's right. Norwich. That's because it's been true since even before then. A decline takes time but there are lots of indicators. I blame the 'useful idiots'.

UKIP in Croydon today - candidate calls Croydon "a bit of a dump". Unusual campaignng tactic. Large parts of Croydon are a total s**t hole, theres no way to sugar coat it, I love Palace, and quite like a drink or six around Norwood Junction, but seriously the area is f**king run down, junked up and skankier than the gusset on Katie Price's knickers. As for UKIP, well they're a bit like a 70s sitcom, which is refershingl different than the stuffy modern politics. I wouldn't vote for them, but they are at least entertaining. And they've put the wind up the main parties, even if they're a bit of a shambolic joke at times, at least the punchline is funny. Especially all those idiots calling them Nazis, facists etc (they're not). Most entertainment politics has had since the last series of fiascos that were the Lib Dems selecting a leader. Looks like UKIP won a lot of support in Croydon today. Same event reported in the Right Wing as well as an utter debacle. LOL, serves them right.
