It will be interesting to see what taxes rise when Labour are in power. Fuel duty? Council Tax? Who knows what else, VAT? Still it will be “ blame the Tories” firthe next 10 years or so. Watch the Junior Doctors suddenly decide their 35% de ands were too much

The destructive policies of successive governments are responsible. Not Farage.

Vietnamese boat people drinking urine, Andes plane crash survivors eating their fellow passengers…and yet Marmite you find unpalatable.

From the graph you posted and my subsequent reply, what point have I demonstrated?

Every single one of my family isn’t voting Reform. Nor are any of the bowling colleagues I asked last night., whose responses were so expletive laden they cannot be repeated here. That’s 16 in total. I feel pretty sure neither my MP nor Starmer will be either. So I am up to 18 already. Hard luck.

Yup they daren't tell you though after the brexit bollocking you must have given them !

Useless though they are, I cannot fathom out why they don't defend themselves.
Inflation has hit a new low and yet still - apparently - the B of E will not reduce interest rates until after Labour get in.
Andrew Bailey is utterly useless and is politically motivated, which is disgraceful.
The war in Ukraine really affected our inflation because of energy but the Tories won't say it - why not?
That inflation was not their fault - it was external pressure not local.
Covid saw us support many people to the tune of hundreds of billions of pounds - all forgotten and never brought up by the Tories - without that support we would be in a worse mess but tax would be lower.
The list goes on but they let the left attack them on this stuff but never fight back.
I just do not understand why not.

Matov incoming and I think he’s spot on

Thatcher was a response to the failure of post war Tory and Labur governments. We sat on our backsides smug because we had won the war so nothing needed to change. All the while investment, modern working practices and the move away from heavy industry was ignored.

Eventually we became the sick man of Europe and we need Thatcher to slash and burn.

If the Tories and Labour had done their job properly this would not have been necessary, economic reform as it happened in other western countries would have been gradual and far less painful.

While Farage is basically a Thatcherite I'm not really. While I'm mostly with Thatcher on social policy (though her voting record for social conservativism wasn't as strong as her reputation for it) I'm not a fan of everything she did economically.....the economics policy taken by Blair and everyone since.

Thatcher was the ultimate neo liberal economically, while being a moderate social conservative....though to today's left/social liberals they would call her far right....she wasn't unfortunately but who cares what Guardian readers think...I know I don't.

She was right to take on the unions, as they had become far too powerful under Labour and essentially betrayed Callaghan's government making a Thatcher government very likely.

She was blamed for closing the pits....but Wilson had been the one to start that off and it's a myth that Thatcher was the start of that.....No, it was the fact that she took the unions on.

Thatcher thought that the private sector were better running off everything. I don't....and I think a mess of water and our railways is obvious.

Thatcher was the start of this country selling off everything to foreigners....When you look at London now....all that started with her and has been carried on by neoliberals since....resulting in London, the sodding capital, no longer being English.

You really believe labour will only Spend 5 billion. Is that a weekly or daily chart as their MO is to spend spend spend spend until it’s all gone. Don’t you remember all the contracts Labour gave out just before Cameron came in. Had to cancel billions of pounds worth as the dosh wasn’t there and labour knew they were toast.

Perhaps he desperately wants to believe that Starmer isn't the liar he so obviously is.

All the manifestos are lies, however apparently we should take Labour's seriously.

That’s a silly suggestion - I was calling Starmer a liar way before it was cool.
