Not casting aspersions at all, just stating facts. If it is this person, he most certainly won’t be in the Farage camp.Glad you got the US in again That the enquiry will be run by someone whose alleged views on Brexit will affect their ability to do their job objectively? How is that a fact?

Am sure his report will be \non partisan and objective. Natwest gets more risible by the day. Lawyers separate personal opinions from their professional obligations every day. Why should this be any different? They won’t be investigating Farage’s opinions. No need to do that, they are crystal clear. They will be investigating how, why and when Coutts took the actions they did and what steps need to be taken to avoid the damage they caused happening in the future.

Doesn't need to be widely shared. Only determined as relevant by those responsible within the bank, who must have been given their reference points by management who in turn would have been guided by the Board. Yes - that’s what I said !

Your question at 10.19 in response to the article about debanking was: That doesn’t though specify who closed them. So...if not the bank then who else? We've gone from this not happening to it being due to reputational damage to Russian money and not being about political opinions to it being all about PEPs. It was you who posted that question at 10.19! I answered later. Reputational damage and being a PEP:with controversial opinions are interrelated, in my opinion. The reference to Russian money isn’t directly involved, only that such rumours could possibly cause a bank sufficient concern as to justify additional scrutiny and for them to question the value of retaining the account.

This thread has less to do with the debanking of Farage and more to do with the debunking of Wisbelch.

Yes - that’s what I said ! Great. We are in agreement then. Coutts had the right to close the account. Whether it was a wise decision is an entirely different question.

The reference to Russian money isn’t directly involved, only that such rumours could possibly cause a bank sufficient concern as to justify additional scrutiny and for them to question the value of retaining the account. The Russian Money allegation was made in the House of Commons by a fervent ' Remainer ' MP under Parliamentary Privilege. And of course, Farage denied receiving it. For that allegation to be made outside of that Privilege would have resulted in more work for Farage's lawyers. As I pointed out several posts ago, Coutts had downgraded Farage from a medium to low risk. There is no additional scrutiny required. You've said this before and I corrected you then. You can continue to spin it or play with words and indeed continue to proffer opinions that don't stack up with facts, that's your prerogative.

I meant it was a fact regarding his comments about Brexiteers. If it is not that person I will apologise but if it is, can you categorically say his views will not have any bearing on his enquiry
