I am concerned that nothing is happening. However the Zaha saga has dragged and in my opinion harmed us as other players will look at that and think they don’t want that to be them. There are reports Eze has refused a contract extension. Edited by Helmet46 (28 Jul 2023 7.16pm)

Why the surprise? If they remake Groundhog Day it will star Steve Parish as a wannabe football chairman stuck making no signings and employing the same manager time after time again and again...

Surprised with Hudson Odoi available for under £10m reportedly why Palace are not going in for him? Who will play LW to replace Zaha Sarr went to Marseille for under £15m from Watford. If Palace sign no one can Rak Sakyi play LW consistently Olise RW and Edouard up front?

We will probably end up with Gray and Franca and perhaps a loan (Summerville? Leeds may appreciate us giving him PL exposure next season for when they hope to return the following year)/L

Are we really such an insignificant team?

He was easily available for money we could afford…I think he went for £13m. But he’d have been on as much as or more than Wilf. I think the highest earner at the club is now on £90k a week. I’d imagine the club have decided that’s our ceiling, or their abouts. So players already on far more than that will have to be very very special players/cases. Paying Hudson-Adoi £100k a week for a player that’s proven less than the wingers we already have…that’s double the wages of Olise…it doesn’t seem to fit well for us.

Olise, Ayew, Rak-Sakyi, Schlupp...? I'm not convinced we can knock Hudson-Odoi's record with that group. We are desperate for a sniff of talent at the minute and CHO is one of the very few that has it who is a realistic target. I wouldn't go paying £100k/week but, unless anyone else is going to, it's fairly irrelevant given his contract is up next year. Getting him for ~£5m (as Fulham seem to be wanting to) makes a higher salary very do-able compared to paying a £10-15m fee for Gray.

Callum Hudson-Odoi is currently earning £120k a week at Chelsea. Would I like him at Palace? Yeah all day long. Do I think it’s a good idea to have him in the squad earning over double the wages as Eze and Olise? No, I think that’s a bad idea.
