I'm hesitant to swamp the thread as I know these things become ever expanding, and I'm not the best with brevity. I do think you're intentionally seeking to not address or appreciate the point I'm making about the video and channel, but I don't have the energy to rehash. That's fine. You can take whatever tack you wish and of course believe whatever you wish about your own or other races. I would suggest that there are other ways an interacting with and appreciating people of other races than the angles you take - this idea of genetically distancing yourself from them and so on (we can only ever deal with society as it is now). I have one other point to make about your racial genetics interest but I'll make that in the Wilf thread. Edited by BlueJay (21 Feb 2021 1.33pm) I've answered your points on both the video and the channel. What you don't seem to appreciate is that I'm against your politics for partly practical reasons....whereas you think it's just race ideology. You believe that integration is the better course of action where I see only inevitable dehumanisation and conflict. I've lived my younger life where I was forced into a highly diverse area against my choice whereas I expect you haven't been. So I regard your position as the position of an idealog whereas mine is tuned into the practical affects of demographic changes. Yours is a politics of hope with no actual positive data, whereas I just look at history and understand that humans essentially don't change, the only thing that changes is the direction of power systems depending upon those that direct it. Yeah but if the UK could only just stop selling them arms we could bring peace. Yeah man.

Now that Trump has gone isn't it just amazing that the media have nothing to report! Edited by The Dolphin (22 Feb 2021 8.32am)

Unless you can cite examples of the right wing media leading on Chicago's murder rates, they all follow the same pattern. If it ain't entertaining, don't print it. Biden wearing pink underwear would get headline news but a City in freefall does not. Trump was a basket case, but he knew how to entertain, and the media lapped up every utterance. There s a rather long thread on perceived bias against Trump, but honestly it was more like shooting fish in a barrel in which Trump had supplied the fish.

Edited by The Dolphin (22 Feb 2021 8.32am) What you describe, whilst a condemnation of the situation in the USA, has nothing at all to do with Biden or the Democrats. They don't cause that level of murder in Chicago, which have been going on like that for a very long time. Indeed you could argue that they are the party more likely to do something about it as they are the ones in favour of more gun control. The fact that things are now politically quieter in terms of newsworthiness was entirely to be expected and is very welcome. The days of Trump's attention-seeking are now gone, hopefully forever. Biden is just getting on with things, especially the vital work on the pandemic.

Biden is having his honeymoon period but it won't last the media will turn on him soon enough as they do every politician. The difference was that Trump was never allowed a honeymoon.

Wisbech - actually you can blame the Democrats for doing nothing about it and brushing it under the carpet so to speak.

Totally agree, Guliani may not be popular anymore but look at the way he totally changed New York. I have been during zero tolerance and not, the comparison is unreal. You are talking feeling safe, walking with your missus looking at sites, or wondering if it's safe to go into a subway or get the train. Just gangs hanging around that you don't want to meet. And believe me or not, I'm not a scared person at all.

Many Democrat Cities/States have these issues and more so than Republican ones - I believe. Edited by The Dolphin (22 Feb 2021 5.30pm)
