I did say I disregarded it...

For the reasons you've listed I think it's probably that one of the best defenders of all time said that Roy Hodgson doesn't know a lot about football because there's personal animosity.

Putting Harry Kane on corners is just an unfortunate circumstance that could feed that opinion.

It was successful not massive, the only down was Blackburn after his first season in charge they finished sixth and qualified for the UEFA Cup but in the next season they suffered horrific injuries and lost key player Colin Hendry sold, They were relegated with Brian Kidd in charge after Hodgson left in November so technically it wasn't all his fault, this was his only bit disaster in football, generally he has a very positive effect on clubs.

Kane was good at doing corners and there were others to cause problems in the box, but as we know him now (not then so much) it did appear weird didn't it, I think it was Rooney who said he also took some to free up Kane to get into the box for some of them

I guess the highlights Pre Fulham would be:

2 league championships in his first role at Halmstads, including in 1976 when they were tipped for relegation.

5 consecutive league championships with Malmo.

Switzerland had not made a tourno since 1966 and he took them to the world cup in 1994, had large success in qualifying for that and Euro 1996 and took them to 3rd in world rankings during his tenure.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

I find the idea that we should be a stable mid-table team by now odd. There really is no such thing -- if you are out of the top 6, you pretty much will go down some time. (Barring billionaire infusion, and even then the FFP rules make it harder now to do a Man City or Chelsea and hide all the investment --even their dirty tricks are starting to come to light.

Look at the teams that were Premier league when we came up in 2013.
Still here: ManCity, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Everton, Spurs, United, Southampton, West Ham, and Palace. The last three teams have all spent a good amount of time in the relegation zone the past 6 seasons.

Got relegated but got back up: Cardiff, Newcastle, Fulham

Relegated: Stoke, Swans, Sunderland, Aston Villa, Hull, WBA, Norwich.

We are in some pretty good company, it won't last forever, but I've enjoyed the 6 seasons, and I'm going to continue to enjoy the ride.

We'll look back at this run as our best ever.

A common sense post prevails , let’s blame the board for saving the club, getting promoted and staying in the PL for six season (securing a 100 m investment) and all the other behind the scenes things that have been achieved to reverse the years of decline and under investment.

Relative success, I've got respect for him cutting his teeth abroad in part time leagues, sure.

Where's the massive success?

Common sense or unambitious?

Kane on corners is unforgivable.

I know he's our manager and of course we all want him to succeed, but the level of sycophancy on here is incredible to me. It's at the level of trying to rewrite history!

He was a disaster for England and really, nothing to write home about at club level. He suits us because as a club our board's ambition matches his ability. It's a good fit.

LOL, relative success, whats that then?

Taking Switzerland to 3rd in the world rankings is massively successful.

Relative success is the level of success relative to the overall context.

Nearly 700 games in management and no trophies in England would demonstrate the level of achievement in the context that is applicable to us.

Getting Switzerland to 3rd in the world rankings for a month 26 years ago is success in the context of the job he was doing at the time.

None of the above demonstrates overall massive amounts of success.
