Has it really got to the situation when benteke is praised for 3 attempts at goal and an assist. Come on people this is the bare bare minimum. And what's worse I don't think he cares one bit. What passionate professional footballer would have let that ball go out of play. Could you see that new kid leaving the ball or run 100 % sliding into the advertising board saving a throw to a standing ovasion from the crowd.

He was way better but I noticed - others may not agree - that when the ball is passed to him he doesn't take a step towards it - he just waits for it to arrive.

World cup is 3 months away. Benteke has never seemed quite right at Palace. If he wants a move, he has to hit top form right away and maintain it through the end of the season.

Benteke's card was marked after Bournemouth at home and that pen. Last night he played pretty well. Fans often equate chasing lost balls as 'workrate'. It's why someone like Calvin Andrew isn't necessarily hated by us because for all of his lack of ability he would run around like a headless chicken a lot. True, Benteke isn't a headless chicken. He also could up his work rate slightly, but making him a scapegoat every game is a bit tiresome.

Way better! but you then say what he should be doing! Don't make excuses for him!! He is a striker his job is to score! And hold the ball up which you say he isn't even doing that right! Would we buy him on this form NO. So why keep playing him.

Agree 100%....That moment was the talking point for me. He is not a 90 minute player, and doesn't give 100% for 100% of the time.

Benteke is getting unfair stick sure hes having a mare but Brighty one went 21 games without scoring. People are pointing out what Murray is doing but hes having a purple patch where everything he touches is going in. He even headed the ball straight at Cech on Sun and he dived over it, Benteke needs a bit of luck like that

Remind us how many goals this £30m striker has scored this season.

He may not be scoring but his assist rate is good. Laid on Townsends goal and won free kick for PVAs
