Bollocks to this. If he doesn't want to come, let him stay with Bournemouth. In our position, we need someone who's going to be 100% committed to Palace, not a wet blanket looking over his shoulder with a teary eye wondering what he's left behind and getting all emotional instead of knuckling down and getting on with the job of keeping us up.

"I am anguished. People say it's a nice position to be in but it doesn't feel that way - I'm very torn. In some respects I'd rather not have the problem.
"Then you see the players perform like that and it makes it even harder - you see their commitment, attitude - I can't fault any of them. They are more than just a group of players - they feel like family as well. They've never let me down, not once.
"I've got a decision to make over the next few days and it's one I know I have to make. It's definitely not going to be easy."

FFS, grow a pair and make your decision Eddie...it's just a football management job, not the f*cking United Nations. Spare us the emotional pain and anguish please, it's making me feel sick, if you don't want the job that's fine, just let us know and our boys will choose someone else. You're not the f*cking messiah, if you love the Cherries so much then stay there, we'll get someone else!

An interesting view... however i think its great to see someone devoted to their club. genuine passion is rare in football these days (excluding the fans.)

In defence of Mr Howe, he has spent most of his life with Bournemouth so I can see why he's tossing and turning about making the right decision.

The comments to me are of a man torn between heart and head but doesn't want to believe his head is telling him the right choice. I think he'll come and hope he doesn't look back.

The more I think about it the more I'm wondering about EH. They guy clearly loves Bournemouth to his bones and is going through severe emotional torment wondering whether to come to Palace. I think he might be having a nervous breakdown right now just thinking about possibly moving on from his beloved Cherries.

You know what? If it's that hard Eddie, don't worry about it. Stay where you are. We'll be fine. We wouldn't want to take you out of your comfort zone or anything. If you come here you'll need to be totally focussed on us, not having a lump in your throat about the club you appear to be umbilically attached to at the moment.

Just decide one way or the other and make it snappy, the transfer window is running out. Ta ever so.

I completely understand where you're coming from. The anguish over the decision is wasting our precious time if he doesn't come.

He said in his interview he appreciates that. Im sure if he decides to come here he will 100% focused on the challenges ahead.

How could he not look back? He sounds like someone who's being asked to kill his own mother. He's going to have to man up a little bit if he's going to make it as a manager outside of Dorset.

Haha. I do enjoy it when you're on the offensive

Hard man Seth.
Playing devil's advocate - if our imaginary young, successful, loyal manager was torn between staying with us and moving to Wigan you'd expect some sort of media discourse or just for him to just say - F you Palace, stepping stone, here's the big time?

In the woods there grew a tree. And a fine fine tree was he.

Well I'm just bored of it now. Some of you may know that I'm a practising counsellor, so am not at all against emotional expression. Indeed it's what my career depends on.

However all this whining about how much he loves Bournemouth and how hard it is for him (poor likkle diddums) is getting tiresome. I want him here, but not if he's going to get suicidal over it and start listening to the Smiths or something.

It's just a job for chrissake. Either take it or don't, but hurry the f*ck up. Time is running out for us.
