Wimbledon at plough lane ,evening game ..looked like we had the whole ground , Thomas flipped Dennis wise up in the air and sparked a ruckus great away day .1-0 win. Reading away Elm Park ,we packed out a boozer in the high street early doors , bar staff were overrun, lost count on how many times we leaned over and filled up. Won that day 3-2 took thousands and got lagged up for a quid. I was at both of these games, as a boy. The Wimbledon game was just after we'd beaten The Scousers 4-3 so everyone was buzzing. We were 2-0 down in that Reading game. It was P*ssing it down all game and I had to sit on the wall at the back as it was so packed. Gavin Nebbling with the winner I think? Take me back!

Leyton Orient 1979. Was thinking the same thing. Massive support that day and the home crowd the following Friday wasn't too bad either.

As i'm only a young'en my best away match was Watford last season, it was my first proper away match (apart from wimbledon) and the atmosphere was brillianty, shame about the result though I don't like to cast nasturtiums, especially on a 'young'un', but I don't believe we played Watford last season, and we never lose there, the last time we did you probably weren't even a tingle in your old man's jap's eye.
I remember going up there about 10 years ago, maybe longer, and we lost 1-0. A Watford pal of mine had got the tickets, so I was seated at the side, but the whole of the stand behind the goal where Watford scored was filled with Palace and they didn't stop chanting "xyz's Red Army" (can't recall who was manager) - in canon, if that's the right word - throughout the whole of the first half. I have to admit it got a bit irritating, and I thought one Watford supporter near me was going to have apoplexy about it. My only memory of the journey back on a packed train was the abuse that left-back Harrison came in for. Poor bloke had to retire from football shortly afterwards.

The whole game is on You Tube and the scenes are incredible as Palace fans were all around the ground. When Swindlehurst scored the whole ground erupted. It was also probably the last time I saw the great John Jackson playing.

Must be from I think 78/79 2nd last away game at Orient. Attendance I think was around 20,000 with about 14,000 Palace. Fantastic
