I am a 1, but I can understand your well-founded reasons for being a 4, Vindaloo. You are right about the hypocrisy of religion in general. However, just because most world religions have been involved in great bloodshed over the years does not make the Bible wrong or mean there is no God. How would God view those religions that claim to worship Him, yet cause so many problems to mankind? To illustrate, the fact that many drivers cause death or injury by drink-driving, speeding or running red lights does not mean there is no law or that the Highway Code is wrong; it's the drivers who break those rules who are in the wrong. Not everyone is a dangerous driver - but those who are should expect to be dealt with justly in due course... JMO.

Religion is the source of nearly all conflict in this world. I don't like it and never will. It amazes me that people get sucked into some religions when basically they are a load of stories and chinese whispers built up over hundreds of years.

Not true, the Bible, plus many other accounts from the time (some from non Christian sources) all point to the existence of Jesus. FACT. Who you consider him to be after that is up to you. In my own opinion he is who he said he was. But you need faith for that.

Indeed, there's more evidence that Jesus existed than Julius Caesar (apparently, not looked up all that evidence myself!!) I'm definately a 1.

mattwebb, you still just assume god exists without offering any explanation why.
