I would have liked to have continued this discussion with him but I understand he replied to my post already, but I never got to read it before it was deleted by some over-zealous Mod or other.
It was my dream to play for Palace and to make my debut. I've always played for the club so if I'm playing here, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. - John Bostock (Nov 2007) |

I have already explained why the thread you are talking about was removed. If you think I acted in an overzealous way and feel I or others will single you out and edit your future topics then don't post. Otherwise, welcome back to the site and I look forward to your contribution, which as you know in the past I have enjoyed.

Too right Madcap. OK, I think I see now what the problem is. Initially I posted in "Come & Have A Go", a forum with a lower requirement in terms of registering and language and so on. My initial posts were well within the bounds of what's already on that forum. Then the thread was moved by Mod(s) unknown to the General Talk thread - the only reason I can see for this to happen is a crude attempt to expose my identity. I'd not exactly tried to hide who I was, for example by changing my writing style, so you could have asked me, or just posted my name like Stef did. Now I understand that the rules for being offensive etc are far stricter in this forum than in C&HAG -- but since I didn't choose to use this forum I shouldn't be bound by its rules. It's like pushing a legally parked car along until it's over some double yellow lines and then giving it a ticket. Ridiculous. JCreedy, you don't know me do you. Thanks for the post. Don't forget respect goes both ways -- it is earned as well as given. Perhaps, then, if I'd been afforded the respect of being told why I was being deleted / moved / renamed / whatever, I'd have reacted differently. Perhaps if the Mods had replied to my points raised on this thread -- for example why the anti-Semitic remark went unchallenged whereas I was deluged with people telling me how I'm not allowed to say what I said. I won't ask any more, I've asked enough times, but I too would like to have been respected enough to at least have had my valid queries responded to. Anyways... all the Mods, lovely chaps to a man, have day jobs as I am being reminded. [Makes a nice change from 50 posts shouting "freedom of speech" at me just before I get deleted!!] So I'll leave them to get on with them. Merry Christmas all, and best of luck for 2005. See? They're harmless really. No racists in the BNP, oh no. Please post your excuses for Nick Griffin below, including mention that some of his best mates are black; he was misquoted; and like the Greater Manchester copper who advocated shooting all Muslims, it wasn't directed at Muslims.

More Voltaire... "It is the characteristic of the most stringent censorships that they give credibility to the opinions they attack." Especially when they shout so loudly about freedom of speech of course! And one for those of you who still think we'll find WMDs in Iraq some day... "It is forbidden to kill; therefore all murderers are punished unless they kill in large numbers and to the sound of trumpets." If only Voltaire was registered on HOL!

HMHS give it up man, if only you were just as hard towards extremist Muslims planning attacks on western targets then you would have a case !! In your eyes racism only goes one way (although you try to deny it I haven't seen any condemming of acts towards white people). Too one-sided, as always !! If you're that happy with muslims then I suggest you go and live there and try to build a church, or tell them you're a christian. Man, they even killed an Irish woman who'd been living in Iraq for more than 20 years and who was more Iraqi than Irish or English ! This political correctness is pissing me off .. as I already said in the other thread .. tolerance stops somewhere, I can understand the BNP being a bit more extreme than other people, someone's gotta do it before we politically correct ourselves into oblivion.

Interesting point: Griffin has been nicked after a full-blooded police investigation a few months after his activities were exposed by that documentary. How long was Abu Hamza preaching his own particular brand of filth in Finsbury? How many YEARS? And were the police investigating that and nicking him? Well there wasn't time what with all the manpower spent on protecting him while he said it! Not a BNP apologist by any stretch, and I think they were right to nick Griffin, for what it's worth, but funny how Hamza only got locked up when the yanks told (oops, sorry Mr Blair - "asked" us to do it for them!

Whjle I loath the current state of the world, with fighting war seeming a top prioirty in too many places, I stll feel that Steff and Penge viewpoint about racism and extremism is a little out of kilter due to a lack of context. Sure, racism and hate for groups of people is all bad, as is terrorism. But the fact that the Western/white world is dominant politically and economically means that they are in a more powerful position to carve the avenue of the future. Those such as Hamza come from a background of struggle and desperation - a recent situation added to by the attitude of the West to deprived and oppressed countries. The level of extremism in those places is thereof more understandable. That doesn't make it accpetable, but the way to tackle the problem, I think, is to attack the causes - poverty and war. Here, the white power structure is only beginning to be infiltrated by a more diverse b unch of people, and we have the power available to us to counteract abuse of that power from the inside.
