As we are only unofficially the 51st State of America, I couldn't care less.

in that case, being that we are even remotely part of America, I think you probably should care MORE.

Well, we're pretty evenly split over here. Unfortunately (from my perspective anyway) the cult of personality surrounding George W. Bush prevailed at the polls this time 'round. Seems that the many anti-gay-marriage ballot initiatives in several of the key states brought out the white evangelical Christians in droves. And there you have it.

It's amazing that so many people see government as a one issue Everyone on here talks only about the Iraq war when criticizing Bush. I suspect like in most elections there are dozens of local issues that decide people's votes. Health, Education, Police, Public Works, Medicare etc etc Since none of us live in the US -- we don't really know if the normal Republican and Democrat politicians are doing a good job for the people they are representing. Foreign policy is not the be all and end all of most people's lives. Bush is terrible in Foreign policy --- say the anti-war people. But maybe the rank and file local Republican politicians are doing a good job. All we see and hear on TV/Radio is the high profile people dealing with international issues.

What have the Americans done? Bush! Look I am an Indian and definitely benefit by pro outsourcing Republicans, but I think the best thing for us is also that Americas grows strong - fundamentally. I think the basic blame has to go democrats for being unable to field a strong candidate. Kerry could not topple a shorter, job loser, war monger president. What more of factors do you want? I see the blame put on person who financed Kerry in his amazing trail in Democratic elections. By brief look I found combative Edwards better fantasy drug for Americans. Bush won, still I will try to put things in perspective on the issues on which choice was made. a. Moral issues b. War on terrorism? c. Who do you trust ?
The biggest problem I see with Bush is that he seems so predictable that it seems he is strictly following orders of the oil lobby. If he is stands up to anyone it is the Green Peace and those not participating in his war. He hasn't stood up to deficit, hasn't stood up to drug companies and so on. The only thing that has ever held him back is re-election. Now what will restrain him? This is a mandate for war mongering as he would see.In his imagination, Americans have told him, George, go on crashing, burning and fuminating the world till that b***d Osama dies. Then our kids will be safer.

Best post of the thread IMO. We're judging a man by his foriegn policy only. If any of you lot lived in the USA, you may have a different outlook.

I've been laid off three times under his administration due to company closings. We went from having a surplus budget to a deficit budget I'm a LOT worse off today then I was four years ago. I'm really depressed that 51% of my countrymen reelected this guy...

Bush is an economic moron out for quick gain, no long term solutions and whilst he's doing this economical damage he f***s up the environment too. Doesn't do things by halves does he !! We'll talk again in a couple of years time when we've all got some more enviromental problems and the world is at war. Don't come crying then if you're not listening now ..

I won't coming crying then, I'm crying now. Bush makes my blood boil. Economically, environmentally, socially, globally, morally and politically, Bush has f***ed America and the world, and now he's going to make it worse. How much worse does it need to get for those who voted for him pull their collective head out of their arse and take a look around. By then, it may be too late. My faith in humanity has suffered a severe pasting.

i really think that there are gonna be some serious consequences in the next four years. Blair has to dissacosiate himself from this idiot now, otherwise we're basically inviting ourselves to be attacked.

I respect Tim's post more than anyone else on the subject. But you can't take one man's opinion as the whole of America's! Why did so many people vote for Bush if he's THAT bad. I just don't get it... Kerry may not be as radical as Bush but if he was voted in, I'm pretty sure the anti-American posters on here would be slating him and his policies at some point in the future.
