We're going a bit off topic here. The main issue is that Political Correctness (contrived by English people) is messing up this country. Banning the word Christmas is an example of this.

(I noticed the Christmas lights up in Tooting High Street last night. How early???!!!).

Almost 2 months too early! Christmas decorations should never go up before Christmas Eve. Anything before that is Advent...,. which like Lent is a season of preparation.

But it does give us two whole months to celebrate how wonderfully 'English' we all are...

Give me one example when the word 'Christmas' has been banned. Not just substituted by another word, but banned. (Ban n formal or authoritative prohibition)

On some christmas cards - you have to put "seasons greetings" and how you can't have a picture of Jesus on them, that's offensive. His birth is the reason of christmas

I always did think it was lucky Jesus being born on Christmas Day and all.

Almost as ironic as Achilles having an achilles heel...

Have to put 'Season's Greetings' on some cards? Is that not simply the decision of whoever published the card? And why can't the artist depict something other than Jesus? A picture of a beardy bloke or a newborn baby in a manger isn't really that interesting after all; I'd much rather have Santa swapping quips with a smartarse reindeer...

I see your point, but it is incredibly hard to find a card that hasnt been PC'd. Some people like to have a picture of something relgious on it as it's a relgious time, but most pulbishers dont want to offend anyone so put "seasons greetings" - no its chritsmas and so its ok to put the word Christmas on a card!
