I may be in a minority of one but I am not so keen on Smith-Rowe. Maybe its too easy to generalise, but history tells us that players who join us from the big PL clubs where they are not first team choices do not turn out to be great buys. And from what I remember of Smith-Rowe he was a very tidy player, but had no outstanding attributes and for that sort of fee I would expect the arrival to be a game changer. Funny this is exactly my thoughts - when you consider we sold Olise for 50 million he is certainly not anywhere near that standard in my opinion but as other's have said Dougie knows a good player and get's in right more often than not.

I'm not sure Arsenal will still be after Guehi now they are signing Califiori from Bologna. I know he can play left back but they have Timber to return in that position. As for another poster's fears that Eze could go to spuds on last day of the window. NO CHANCE!! Parish would never allow it unless it was already done in principle and was reliant on us getting replacement in first.

He could go Spurs but point i was making was that Parish doesn't do last day of the window sales with our best players. I think it's been said that De Bruyne won't be going to Saudi this year. On Smith- Rowe, he is class and would suit OG's quick pass and move style. The one worry is his injuries but I'm sure they'll do their due dilligence on him when he costs this much.

If Arsenal are happy to part with this guy then there must be a reason. Is he that good? Is he an injury nightmare? I'm not convinced.

However, he's had a shed load of injuries and isn't worth any more than what we paid for Olise - in my opinion. Where I and no one else can really be sure is does he still have potential to improve, or not.

That's an invalid comparison. Barring the release clause, Palace would likely to have been looking for double what he went for
