Seems ironic that the players would be banned for using the service provided by their own shirt sponsors.

Why would they be banned? Footballers are allowed to bet albeit with some restrictions regarding betting on football matches.

The moral outrage being exhibited in this thread does make me laugh, given how morally outrageous football is in the first place.

Are they? According to the FA's rules, no participant in football can place a bet on any football match or competition that takes place anywhere in the world. This includes any bets on the outcome of the match, the scoreline, the number of corners or goals, or any other aspect of the game.

It could be that some with their moral high ground do the lottery or even bet on us and football during the season. Not with bet88 though so it’s ok

Much better shirt than last years , and I like a bet so no problem with the sponsor not that Ive ever heard of them .

On the betting addiction ,yes its a serious issue but people with addictive personalities haven't got them because of a football shirt .
The ban has been brought in attempt to placate those who see betting as the devil , led by Welsh Labour deputy leader Carolyn Harris .
Virtue signalling at its worse by the Premier league in an attempt to clean up its image .
Yer right allow a state that beheads people to own a club but you're not allowed to look at Bet Fred ,its a policy that just doesn't add up . What they probably haven't mentioned is that betting companies WILL be allowed to advertise on other parts of the kit when the front of shirt ban comes in .

You really couldn't make it up

Nothing you've said above contradicts what I posted; in summary that Palace players are NOT banned from using the services of the shirt sponsor.

Not sure any site exists - so best of luck to them if they manage it.

Villa have just signed a £40 million from Betano (Greek gambling co.) for 2 seasons.

I’m not being funny but is this reaction not a bit over the top. I know gambling affects many people and families and one of my best friends lost his family over it. Alcohol affects many more but we happily allow gazillions to be drunk every home game. There is no protest about us going alcohol free at Selhurst.
If this sponsor wants to give us money to put their name on our shirt so be it.
If it was allowed to be drink would it be the same reaction?

You are missing the point... the company doesn't exist.. they have no product. Their brand, ok someone looks it up, it won't generate business as there's nothing there... and if they do find something, it's not going to recoup the money it has spent. Ok, let's say it is a start up company, they should have had 6/9 months already set up with social media and a website to really capitalize - they have nothing.

So why would someone invest several million pounds on a deal like this, what do they get in return? Match fixing, agents? Laundering money back into London?

Parish, taking 2/3 million extra from this deal, where in reality a more established brand with a reputation could be on our shirts and no drama - is it really worth it? It smells like fraud..

Parish mate, you've scored an own goal with this - we should not be aligning ourselves with a tin pot 'company' like this. Such a let down.

All round the world there is evidence of a breaking down society. The wheels are coming off. Online gambling is well out of control now. Debt is totally out of control. Gambling is a symptom of the problem. The fact that unknown outfits like this can splash this sort of cash is evidence that we are all facing trouble ahead.
the internet has removed moral values. Football is sucking cash out of a breaking down society. This is a clear example. So was cinch.
Football is doing nothing to help the problem. You make talk about moral values.
They have long gone. The world is in a precarious place now.
Enjoy what you can while you can. I wouldn't get too hung up on morals. They are long gone.

Net88 is currently building its UK-facing website. Once built, you, me, the Palace squad and anyone else will be able to use it.

It's nothing to do with winning. I'm just trying to counter some of the hysteria being spouted with a fact or two.
