Now a Spurs site saying that their representatives are meeting with Palace this week to thrash out a deal for Eze.
Hope it's not true!!!

I also hope it's fake news.
If he departs, his mate Olise is also likely to leave.

Simple question. Why the f would Eze want to join Spurs?

We were playing better football than them at the end of the season, they are not known for paying massive salaries and they are not known for paying huge signing fees. They have no players we want.

I just can’t see a beneficial scenario for Eze in moving there and I reckon Levy would probably try to pay us over about 5 years for him.

He has a decent contract, the contents of which with regard to transfers is pretty much unknown.

All in all when you consider each element of this in the round it really doesn’t make much sense that he moves to Spurs.

Spurs is a club which you join if you want decent wages and the appearance of playing for a top club, so plenty of visibility in the press.

However there is no stress as you are not expected to win anything.

Levy does not pay what other clubs want for their players, end of. It went to tribunal over Bostock and Routeledge. That won’t happen now, but Spurs are a slimy club and will do all they can to manipulate players, like giving Eze’s family a top executive box when Palace played them last season….

I blame Lanzo for comparing him to Gazza!

If the fee is 60m then Spurs can afford that. They paid 50m for Johnson last season and similar fees for Richarlison and Romero the season before, plus they had the Kane money. It would make him their record signing though and with recent injuries they might see that as a big risk, perhaps more so than bigger clubs like Arsenal or Man City. If they stick with Ange I also think it might be a bad move for all parties as Eze does actually concede possession quite a bit, which if you're playing a really high line is a big issue. They'd be better off spending 60m on a new striker.

Also, I hate Spurs.

It was Spurs v Arsenal that they had a box for and it was courtesy of his agency that represents him not Spurs.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

They can’t afford them and the Kane money is spent. We hold all the cards and getting any of the big boys cast offs won’t work either due to the wages they are on. Levy will bid low and be told politely where to go. The best thing any of the big boys could do is follow Dougie’s every move because he would only find a better replacement at a quarter of the price.
