The Transfer Window doesn't officially open until this coming Friday. I wouldn't expect Palace to make any official announcements before then. In any event, I suspect the club's media people etc. will have taken the opportunity of the post league season closed window to go on holiday.

As for Riad, he's with his national team (Morocco) for a couple of World Cup qualifiers (they won on Friday and play again tomorrow. He'll probably come over at some point after then to be announced.

Fingers crossed these are cemented in.

They may also wait for the new kit to come out so they can promote both the player and shirt together

That would be cool.

The pursuit of Kamada seems to sit outside our recent model and provides an interesting exception as it appears to be exclusively on the say of the current manager.
More recently we've researched young players over an extensive period with Freedman and the scouting team heavily involved.
I doubt Kamada would normally be on their radar.
Glasner has detailed working knowledge of Kamada and is obviously instrumental in the pursuit.
I'm hoping that this demonstrates confidence in Glasner's judgement and also an indication that he may stick around a while.

If news of Kamada's proposed contract length is correct (two years) we can kind of view that as a heavy hint.

It is different from 'the model', but:

He's not cost anything so, we don't need him to have sell on transfer value
We need a balance of experience and youth in the squad

he's a bosman so his wages will be high. Agents often ask for a 'relocation' allowance or a loyalty bonus on top of published wages to offset the saved transfer fee.

Max Meyer's contract with all the add ons was supposedly worth £125k a week. That's c£20m over 3 years.

Agreed. Also, how much different is this to our picking up Lerma for a free when he was 28 on a 3 year contract.

Furthermore, although we paid a relatively small fee for him, Muñoz was 27 when we signed him on a 3 year contract with a 1 year option.

Kamada will have turned 28 when the league season starts. I can't imagine that Freedman won't have the metrics on Kamada and not be happy with them.

A real pearl of a player. Palace at the midway point in signing him.

They often ask for it, but I suspect we've learnt our lesson on things like that. And regardless of the wage, a 2 year contract doesn't leave us very exposed.

Internet says he was on about £63k at Lazio, I'd be surprised if we've not offered pretty similar.
