Villa looked good in their last game. Very accurate passes and pressing continuously. But if we turn up like the last six matches I don't see why not us. I need to buy some Strepsils before I get there!

That season we had a lot of dull low scoring games at selhurst and very few goals up our end (whitehorse) so I decided I’d had enough early, put my flip flops on and gave that one a miss…….I’m still reminded of this bollock I dropped by a mate I sit with, probably every time we play Bournemouth

It was my first season as an ST holder so I made as many home games as I could. Fortunately, I was in the Wright and Bright stand and saw most of the few goals we did score. I moved to the Glaziers the next season for extra leg room (row 16 - wider step because there used to be a barrier) but not so many Palace goals down that end (there've been quite a few late heartache strikes by the opposition as you will well know). Enough of reminiscing and bring on Sunday and a good day out.

The season after was no better at selhurst up our end either, Jordan Ayew’s winner in our last game before the first lockdown in March against Watford was only the second goal we see up the Whitehorse, and the first was a penalty earlier in the season. It’s a bit of a running joke up our end now, we were all slipping into a coma with the shock of four goals in half an hour against the spammers recently

Well Villa will be nursing a hangover after CL qualification and playing in sliders, so a 2-1 win for the bang in form side. Their last 8 visits to Selhurst, lost 7 drawn 1, so they get a bit homesick when they come here…. Villa fans seem to think they will sign Eze and Olise, dreamers….

I am going for an all out attack game from both sides resulting in a 3-3 draw. COYP

I think we will almost have our strongest 11 available for tomorrow apart from Johnstone and possibly Dacoure , shame the season is ending

I expect Lerma to come off the bench in the 2nd half. With Guehi back and likely to start after a couple of sub appearances, we might see Richards moved into midfield with Clyne at RCB. The other possibility is Ozoh although he had a tough match midweek against Jong PSV.

Forgive me for not finding the exact quotes but in one of the usual BBC comments forum exchanges about Man City expenditure there was the understandable complaint from Villa fans, when it was pointed out that they were the 7th biggest spenders over recent years, that their spending couldn't continue at Villa at the same level because of the Financial Fair Play rules. Or is it Profit and Responsibility now? Basically the impression I got was they had maxed out on their losses - though to their credit they had spent well with a good manager. So they will get some extra money from the Champions League, though will need to qualify for the group stages I think, but will be still be restricted in their spending. Can anyone more knowledgeable confirm? I think Newcastle are in a similar position where despite untold riches backing them are going to have to sell to buy. I wouldn't think a one off season in the Champions League would swing it for either Olise or Eze to become a squad player at Villa. They obviously have a pretty good side already and 4th place next year is going to be even more competitive. Villa have Spurs to thank for imploding for this years qualification.

There's a new format for the CL this coming season - the "Swiss System" or something like that which will guarantee every team 8 instead of 6 matches before the knock out stage. As for Spurs - well they did their usual Spursy thing.
