I dunno about that. I would imagine most people sitting behind the goal are used to the view and wouldn't want to move. I'm in the Arthur and personanlly I don't like watching a game from behind the goal.

As for the whole money, flags and where's it gone chat, well if nothing happens and no refunds are given without good explanation, then people simply won't contribute financially next time. If it's because of the banner then IMHO the HF are essentially saying that it's more important they get their banner put back up, than the goodwill of the rest of the fans and that'll break some trust that will be very hard to get back.

I agree, if the flags don’t appear at Villa, that isa disgrace

I agree that there hasn't been a great deal of improvement with the move - yet.

My guess is that the long term vision was/is that once the new stand is built most people will want to move into it, which will free up loads of seats. At the same time, the lower tier will (hopefully) become a safe standing area where those who want to sing for 90 minutes will congregate around the HF and expand the section.

Personally, I love what they do on the whole. I haven't been to many games over the past couple of seasons - mainly due to a lack of interest/mid table boredom - but I'll always make an effort to get to the cup games to be in/near the HF. Makes the whole experience much more enjoyable for me. The atmosphere in the rest of the ground is pretty drab, so would rather watch at home and save the money.

spot on.

Lots of people on here are rightfully questioning the go fund me. The flags have been ordered. It's up to the club to make a small concession and restore the banner - something that clubs such as chelsea/man utd have in their grounds - clubs with a bigger advertising potential than us. A banner that was previously fine and recognises decades of hard work in the stadium and behind the scenes to support the club, and the noise generated by the stand and stadium - which has earned a rightful reputation and has been used for marketing purposes by the club countless times.

I believe it is at the stage where Parish is (hopefully) trying to finalize getting it back up, as everything is cleared with the ground staff and operations level.

It's extremely annoying not having the banner and a whole stand of flags present for some of our best home performances and I hope it can be back for the villa game with a top atmosphere to round the season off.

Though you say people are rightfully questioning the fund raiser you still seem to support the HF stance on the banner . They are separate issues and should not have been linked in any way whatsoever .

The banner was great and I hope they can get it back up but the HF have gone about it in an arsupward way that doesnt win them any brownie points for any future fundraisers .

Man Utd and Chelsea haven't had digital advertising installed on the front of their top tiers (as far as I know) like Palace have and therefore don't get monies from companies advertising on it.

And you have just confirmed other people's previous posts that have been critical with your 'club need to make a small concession' comment which is basically a big banner advertising a small group of 20-40 in a stadium of 25-26,000.

J

So, the flags have been 'ordered', they were supposed to be available for the WH game on the 21st April, we have had 2 more home games since then.

WHY, do the club have to make a concession? What the club do with THEIR ground is entirely up to them. Think the hf need to be a bit more respectful, as others have said, you are losing/lost support among the majority of the fan base, they will realise that next time they want peoples hard earned money.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

I think you might of shot yourself in the foot here as essentially this is an admission that the HF is holding the club to ransom over the banner, but also that people's money has been collected (and used) without full disclosure of what the intention was (i.e. would only be used if the club agree to the banner coming back).

We didn't give money for the flags for that to then be used as a negotiating tactic with the club about the banner and I say that despite being in support of the banner being reinstated. We though the flags would be used at West Ham and my impression was that they would be reusable for the rest of the season. What your saying is that this hasn't happened because it's being used as a pawn in getting the club to reinstate the banner. If the HF used the display as a bargaining chip with the club before collected the money then that would have been fine, but not afterwards.

Not cool man.

The trouble with computers, of course, is that they're very sophisticated idiots

For anyone else that donated and are unhappy with how this has been dealt with, I would suggest submitting a claim to receive your donation back.

The funding was very misleading and has not been fulfilled to it's promise imo. Initially we were told the flags were to be used for the West Ham game, only for the flags and donations to be used as a sly negotiation tactic to get their banner back.

30th April - "They're reportedly ready to go once the club restore the banner"

8th May - "The flags have been ordered"

^ Which is it? One day the flags are ready and now they're 'ordered'!

Also, I've noticed that the target has been upped to 5k rather than the initial 4k?

I hope I'm wrong but I have a feeling we're not going to be seeing these flags

You seem to see yourself as a bit of a politician. Not a very good one.
You asked for donations for these flags and attached no condition of any banner being allowed by the club when asking. Now you've rinsed a load of hard working Palace fans who gave you money in good faith its all about how mean and nasty the club is and how we cant possibly produce the flags until the club let us have our way. You've conned people. Pure and simple. Give them their money back or give out the flags on the last game. If you do neither then you are the type of people I always suspected you of being. I'll let others figure out what I'm getting at.

You do realise pal that it only takes on person that gave you money to make a complaint that you have ripped off a lot of fans for thousands of pounds and not produced what you promised and the host of that 'go fund me' page is in a lot of trouble. I'd suggest for your own sakes you refund the money or produce the flags.
Forget about your pathetic little banner. Its probably got another embarrassing message on it like the Arsenal one anyway.

I’ll come back to this once the holmesdale is a sea of red and blue flags. Just because it hasn’t happened doesn’t mean it won’t. The intention is always to improve the atmosphere at selhurst park.

Lots of people on here believe money was collected and then the flags were used as a type of “bargaining technique”. This is a) not true as the group has enough flags, people didn’t need to go out of their way to spend time creating more. b) it was stated in the initial statement before the fundraiser was even sent discussing the plans for when the banner is restored, so the message has always been clear

The flags have been ordered mate. Also the banner everyone is referring to is the "holmesdale fanatics" banner which has in some shape or form represented the support of palace fans in the stadium and behind the scenes for years and there are banners like it allowed in almost every other stadium across the uk and europe.
