Refusing to get hopes up after what Nixon has said on Twitter about glasner only being spoken to I know Roy’s health is more important but thought it was done deal r.e glasner but appears it’s not done yet. Think he will be a brilliant appointment.

So, Glasner….Austrian born white male who rose to fame in Germany. Successful campaign in Europe as Commander in Chief of a black uniformed squad and now looking to conquer England. He’s reminding me of someone but I can’t quite put my finger on it. I suppose this means we can look forward to a campaign in Europe.

I guess we will do ok, so long as we don't get into Europe and have to play Volgograd FC.

If it goes through it's a dramatic break from what we know. I would genuinely consider it a new era. We have no idea how it would affect what happens this season. We may still go down but we have to back this manager as until he remakes the side in his image we won't be able to properly judge. I think the team will look radically different after he's done with it, both in personnel and style. Interesting times and of course we all wish Roy improved health and a worthy retirement on a great career. As long as it's not FDB v2 then I'd have thought 'new manager bounce' would be enough to get sufficient points to at least stay up. We could be getting more out of the players we have and a fresh take should be enough to do just that and see us alright

Every country has its shameful past including ours but that is no excuse for tarnishing our probable new manager with something that happened ages ago. He should be welcomed just as we did Roy and previous managers except, of course, Alan Mullery!

Think he will be a brilliant appointment. From every news outlet that has information on this it actually is done. Sky Germany apparently ran a whole feature on 'the small London club Crystal Palace' because Glasner has 'joined them on a 2 year deal with the option of a third year' I think the issue (quite rightly) is out of respect for Roy the club are not going to announce anything until Roy is out of hospital and happy for the news to be made public.

Alex Howell - BBC Sport "Roy Hodgson is doing well after being taken ill in training yesterday. The 76-year-old was unwell during the session at the training ground yesterday and his press conference was cancelled. Hodgson’s well-being is the club’s main focus but It’s understood that the club are also working through the possible succession plans. Oliver Glasner is the strong favourite to take the club and it’s understood that a deal for him to take over is close."
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

This report reads quite promising to me. It's hard to know who he'll have available next season. Our four best players (Guehi, Doucoure, Eze, Olise) are all injured and on longterm contracts. If they don't play much more this year then big clubs might wait a year. Or they might not. But whatever happens with them, it seems that Glasner is committed to 3-4-2-1 and a high press. Some thoughts and questions about the squad:
