According to SSN, Forest are now in talks with Strasbourg to sign their 'keeper Matz Sels as the £15m for Johnstone was too much for them. Let's hope they succeed in their endeavours.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Here's hoping.

Unless he's on strike or similar, selling Johnstone would be nothing but lunacy on our behalf.

What would be the point of selling a goalie to a relegation competitor. If Forest want to spend on another goalie, good for them, another nail in their FFP coffin.

It's weird with SJ, when we signed him I don't think he was even WBA's first-team keeper and now he's back in the England fold with talk of a £15m deal. I think he's a very solid and dependable keeper and it'd be a shame to lose him. Henderson was out for a long period before getting his chance with us and he came in when heads were down. I think he'll go on to prove himself as his confidence returns. I noticed Arsenal were doing the same tactic against Forest but their goalkeeper got protection from a defender. It's obviously going to be a tactic from many teams until it is inevitably clamped down on. To me it seems daft that a player can intentionally obstruct the goalkeeper's path, but there you go.

Surely that’s right. They’re rolling 3 year loss that has exceeded the limit - most of that was spent 18 months ago when they splashed out after promotion - can’t see how they can be out of the woods on that. Unless they don’t give a scooby and are trying to sign as many as possible before a ban comes in.

Henderson was bought so Johnstone could be sold, Zero to 15m, Henderson is younger, not as good as Johnstone at the moment, but a good deal money wise, if not playing wise, i expect him to go today with a loaned keeper in.

Brennan Johnson £48 million to Spurs puts them well in the clear . Came too late to balance the books for the period they are being done for though

According to Simon Stone, Johnstone set to stay and determined to win his place back in first team. Shouldn't be too hard I imagine.

Good stuff if correct that he's staying and intent to compete.

Is it, I thought Henderson was £20m? If so we’d be £5m down , with a weaker, younger goalie ?

Johnson superior keeper for me. If he stays til the summer , hopefully the new manager puts him back in.

I'm actually really pee'd off at what Palace have done buying Henderson, another No 1 goalie. Read Hodgson's article about the current dilema: [Link]
They saw the same sh1t with Guaita. But excuse there was Johnstone's rise through the under 21s. They went an BOUGHT another number 1!!! Now Johnstone is p1zzed off and we may well lose him. I am not a big fan of rotating goalies. Johnston was fast becoming the team's regular goalie! AND HE WAS FUGGING GOOD!!!! What tw@ts run our club!

To me, it seems as no surprise that we have been shipping goals since Henderson has been between the sticks. He is shaky to say the lease with his feet, we've all noticed the reluctance of our back four to pass back to him, and when they do he boots it up field, and we lose possession. Ok for the EPL 10 years ago but not now. Sweeper keeper he is definitely NOT.

Johnston and him are like chalk and cheese in my book. Roy needs to get that defence to tighten up, and one sure way to do that is to get Johnston back quick smart, if not we are doomed!
