And that representative democracy decided to offer the Brexit referendum and then to act on its outcome. Case closed. It did. Nobody has ever argued it was done illegally. Only that it was a mistake and that the bullying behaviour of Johnson towards those in the Tories who wanted to vote for a confirmationary, referendum given the time that had elapsed, was disgraceful. So was the spineless behaviour of Corbyn in not standing aside to allow an interim PM to oust Johnson by Labour aligning with the Tory rebels. That would have been representative democracy at its finest. What we got was the country’s future impaled on a three word slogan uttered by a man consumed by his personal ambition.

Nevertheless we elect them to make these decisions and when they do we have to accept them.

I would have preferred a secret free vote in the HOC so that the members could truly vote on their beliefs and not when looking over their shoulders. That though wasn’t available so asking us to express our current attitude was a better alternative than doing nothing. In the end Johnson played politics, used a clever strap headline worthy of a tabloid and conned the people.

There’s been plenty available in the past, and is now, for him to support some of the charities providing help to the victims but he doesn’t. He just uses their situation for his own purposes. No one should be fooled by him. Do you know he doesn’t? Is the proof out there?

More relevantly I am pretty sure if he had helped anyone he would have made a big deal about it. He isn’t shy or retiring is he? Nor is he modest.

Maybe he was not prepared to discuss his finances to a journalist, not unreasonable is it?
