Personally I think certain countries would benefit from a beneficial dictator who banned mobile phones outside of the work place and implemented compulsory chess schools along with education and Church.

Seems more likely without it.....and that's coming from someone who thinks we are probably living in a form of simulation.

I somehow doubt that those gang members are growing up attending compulsory chess clubs and church. They are probably growing up within gang rich environments where drugs play a significant role. Obviously I'm not writing a manifesto on how you solve all the problems within failing societies with two recommendations. What I'm doing is saying that to reduce human flaws you need to implement socially conservative norms. If you look at successful families....even those that vote for the left or say they are liberal....when you actually look at their lives they tend to have behaved more socially conservatively than not. Economic investment and hence jobs only results from safe and predictable environments. The number one concern of any leader who actually cares about rising all boats is to create that environment. What I mentioned were just a social soundbite on how the cultures of children could be changed in certain cultures, obviously if you are talking about how to take a failed state and make it into a productive one.....it's one of many changes. But the elimination of major crime is probably the number one priority you'd have to even start to make that change. It's a precursor to investment. Edited by Stirlingsays (01 Feb 2024 9.37pm)

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Khan is the worst sort of middle class socialist. He will do whatever he can to cling to power and deals in sound bites. He does not care about Croydon and has watched as successive councils have presided over the continued decline of a once prosperous town. Gavin 'the mekon,' Barwell.is just as bad. A whole host of people in Croydon have just been left to rot and ULEZ has made the poor poorer. And none of this is a comment on race colour or politics all are as guilty as the rest. I once loved living in Croydon it was where I worked, drank, shopped laughed and loved. Now I commute there go into the office and pretty much nowhere else as there is nowhere left to go. Born and bred in Thornton Heath, first job at Lunar House. Went drinking and clubbing in Croydon. Now I despair driving through on way to Palace

Same with Dianne Abbott and others. You could replace her with a cardboard cut out, and many in her constituency would vote for her because she is Black.
