I understand people's reservations given his lack of game time with City, but he has never been given time to settle with them and when he has come in he's been under immense pressure to immediately perform with the shadow of probably the world's best defensive midfielder (Rodri) being cast over him. If he joined he'll almost certainly play most games if he's fit enough and I think he'd show his class. I'm excited by Ozoh but he's still a kid.

KP plays well in a well-structured set up so would be just up Roy's street (it's also why Southgate likes him). KP isn't the kind of player who does well in the fluid system played by Citeh.

Like you, I'm excited by Ozoh and expect him to become a regular at some point next season.

If we get relegated Doucoure and Lerma will be off, so Ozoh will probably be playing every game.

I think Phillips will view us as the girl in the club that you hook up with at around midnight because it has already become clear that more attractive options have already made other arrangements & you aren't going to do any better.

I think we are quite an attractive option for KP.
He would be guaranteed a starting place for us - as we have nobody of his quality. He would be getting regular football, put in back into Southgate’s plans…plus..we are a lovely club and would make him feel welcome.

The Standard reports that West Ham are very much in the game here.
They play better football and are higher up the table and in Europe.
They are likely a better option for him sadly.

Sadly indeed, but clutchin' them straws...

What manner of "Europe"? and...
Would he get as much game time?

In todays Times it was reported that the loan fee plus wages amounts to £10m.

If true £10 million for a short term loan would be difficult to justify.
That works out more than half a million a game and that's assuming he plays the games and is not injured or suspended.
It's obscene really.

Hopefully West Ham get it done quick so Palace can move on and find another option. The worst case scenario is we have a Lewis Hall situation where we are left with no-one. On that, how is it the club deemed we needed another left-back in the summer but seemingly have done nothing to address that in January? Similarly, we supposedly were pushing hard for the PSG lad but so far we still haven't got another forward. I appreciate it's not easy to get deals done in January, but what has been happening in the last four months since the summer window shut? Were no other plans being made? Could they not, for instance, have sounded out Genk on Munoz before January? Roy has shown no desire to involve Franca or Ebiowei so why is there no news about us looking at wingers, especially given Olise can't stay fit for more than five minutes.

I think Philips would be a good signing, but I think more pressing is our need for some creativity and goal scorers in the squad. When we kick off at Arsenal tomorrow we will in all likelihood have no recognised wide players on the pitch with others having to fill in.

Perhaps £10 million in the wider scheme of things could be money well spent? Doucoure's injury has been a huge blow to the team and we desperately need someone competant enough to fill his boots albeit temporarily.

Add to that £12.80 pm for some private medical cover at Benenden for Olise in an endeavour to keep him moving!

can't believe people think this may happen. Too expensive and he will not be interested, even if we could afford him.

Surely we desperately need attacking options - LW in particular

We need reinforcing in defence, midfield and attack.

My first priority would be to get a specialist defensive midfield player in. Richards is trying hard but just hasn't got enough quality on the ball.

I actually think our attacking midfield is the most important. It's good with Ayew, Eze and Olise. Take out 1 and we look ineffective. Take out 2 and we may as well hand over the points before we even travel. The lack of depth is frightening. Who is next in line? Schlupp? Barely averages 1 goal in 10.

We can muddle by in games with our current defensive midfield options. Phillips would make us better but he'd had to make us astoundingly better to get us far enough up the league to pay off the cost and without a stronger attack, I don't think we'd achieve that league rise.
