I think top 10 would be good enough. That was Roy's aim for this season and if achieved I think he would walk away head held high.

Such an outcome would be stupendous and perhaps unexpected by many, but alas I cannot see us ending the season in such a lofty position.

If we finish 7th or 8th I think Roy should get the England job back.

It’s funny, the number of times that supporters on here have complained about a lack of succession planning by the club, and here we are with a possibility that is what is happening with Paddy. Personally I have mixed feelings should Paddy be appointed. He’s certainly a ‘ Palace Man ‘, and I’d love to see him succeed. You could argue that the risk of giving him the job is similar to that when Bournemouth made Gary O’Neill manager in terms of experience. O’Neill’s prior role was Liverpool U23 coach I believe. And Paddy will have the benefit of working with Roy and Ray this season. But would a more experienced man be the answer ? A lot depends on who the candidates are next summer……

Paddy has been in charge for 2 games? We did not play well in either. Parish is cautious I would be surprised if he risked all in appointing Paddy. This is the problem with succession planning it sounds alright in theory. Ironically it may work better at a top 6 club even though they can afford the best managers. Arteta took over a good Arsenal team if he had failed the worst case scenario is that Arsenal would have had a nothing mid table season. The payers they had would see them though. For Palace to stay up each year we need solid performances fromm nearly all our players. FDB showed how fragile we are with the wrong manager.

For me Paddy would be a last resort. If all else had failed. Most here want the club to not just survive but , move upwards , that is going to be difficult enough , and if it’s to happen it needs experienced hands . In fact as we know only to well it needs experienced hands to just keep the status quo.

Everton sack Dyche Palace offer him the job or it will be Southgate. I don't like how Pardew is hanging around either I do wonder if he has some sort of role in the background Palace have a track record of going after the same people they have on list and SP loves people who has a connection with the club. ANother issue is I don't believe many people are lining up for the job why would they very limited resources plus lack of ambition.

David Moyes. His contract is up this season and the rumours are he will be going. As much as I dislike him, he’d probably be a good fit.

Even though he was at Brighton Graham Potter would make a lot of sense. It would be a good appointment next summer. He can get Palace into Europe (Conference League) with players like Eze, Olise and Franca. However, I think investment is also required Palace still need to buy a few more players e.g. new RB and clinical striker at least. They have never replaced AWB at RB and have not had a clinical striker in a long time. Edited by Zaha127 (11 Nov 2023 9.20am)
