What a satisfying day. Everyone played well, and both our goal and clean sheet were well deserved.

My only disappointment was that Mateta didn't do more with his opportunity, but we can't expect him to suddenly become strong with his back to goal. He's simply not built for it. Eze, too, might have done better on a couple of attacks, but his effort on defense was solid.

Having his back to goal didn't pose much of a problem late on for Mateta against Leicester at Selhurst last season!

I actually thought he played quite well. He was a thorn in their side all afternoon, ran more than I've seen him in a while and worked well with Ayew and Eze.

Having a lone man up front is a tough assignment. He's going to lose the ball more than not, but that's expected.

We should have had a penalty shortly before the end. There was a clear handball on the edge of the area which was missed by the ref and VAR.

I wonder if it will be spotted on MOTD.

I was fuming. Until the whistle went.

Gritty performance by every player. No weak links there today. Mitchell had a stormer, best in a long time. Ayew did what he does better than anyone in the PL. Draw fouls which along the team time to breathe and check their organisation. He has become a legend for me!

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.

That’s good to hear as despite really not wanting to, I found myself leaving his fan club recently. I sincerely hope to be a member again this season.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

'Genuine question'. Is that a single bet i.e. you can get a price for a player to score the first goal and the last goal (with scoring the only goal counting)? I've not heard of that before (albeit I'm aware that you can bet on almost anything) but I imagine the odds are pretty long.

No, YT. I had a tenner on him scoring 1st (50/1) and a tenner on him scoring last (50/1).

Basically, I've won the cost of my season ticket back !

Roy ran rings around ten Hag yesterday. Hag is out of his depth. Our game plan won the day.

Ten Hag is over arrogant " when you play Palace you have to win". apparently not

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

I won £5.50 on a £1 bet ... Palace to win. I'm going to buy myself a pint!

Anderson is showing just what a star he is for us.

Best strikers in the world would have been proud of that goal. It was pouring with rain and he effortlessly powered it into the roof of the net on the volley. Absolutely stunning.

Top player.
